SCUBAPRO - Universal Mask Attachment - Compatible with GoPro

I was skeptical but it worked like a charm. Didn’t work on the Solara scubapro mask but it did work on this one. Very tight and secure. I did not have to remove anything on my mask. It’s attached with a zip tie.

Purchased this to record some upcoming dives in the Bahamas. Ordered one because I wasn't sure how it mounted or if it would fit my mask (this one is a Sea Vision color correction mask). I took a couple of pics to hopefully help others with this. It comes with a zip tie and the mount along with some very cryptic instructions that really don't do a lot of good in my opinion. How this works is the there are two tabs protruding from the back of the mount that hit the glass of any double lens mask. These are to be trimmed (easily done with a file or even stout scissors) so that the mount sits vertically on the front of the mask. There is a channel through the mount for the zip tie to go through. The zip tie goes between the skirt and the frame of the mask and also through this channel and is then tightened and cut. This makes the mount quite secure and puts pressure against the tabs on the glass holding it solild and wobble free. My mask had what I'll call a "nose protrusion" in front that I filed down a little bit just for aesthetics sake (I'm a bit of a perfectionist) and so that the zip tie would be used to maximum effectiveness. Overall, the mount is solid as a rock and with the camera mounted it's a stable platform. I am going to buy a few more to put on other masks as well so that I am covered for gopro coverage of the dives, no matter the dive conditions. Hope this helps you a little bit. Sarge

It works good and is east to install but you will have to adjust the zip tie or replace it as time goes on. I found it get slack in it. However it is cool and works for what you need it to do. Much cheaper than a new mask that may not fit you well.

I live on the ocean and have a number of ScubaPro Scout masks which are high quality and fit every one that’s ever tried one on. They’re my favorite masks after having tried dozens, but ScubaPro doesn’t offer a GoPro version that I’m aware of. I was researching masks with GoPro mounts when I stumbled on this. It seems to provide a solid mount for the GoPros and at a much cheaper option then shelling out another $100 per mask. I do think this product should be around $6 as there isn’t much too it and I did have to break out my dremel to get it to fit perfectly, but I only spent about 10 minutes fitting them on 2 masks. I thought they would. E a perfect fit for ScubaPro masks, but I did have to do some simple modifications. I assume they are designed to be modified to fit any brand split glass mask. You can use side cutters to modify this part instead of a dremel if you don’t have one. (See my photo of the side cutters next to the mask to understand what tool I mean. This is the tool that ScubaPro showed in their instructions that came with the mount) Tips: bend / crease the zip tie 1/4” from the end without the locking mechanism. This will help you to route the zip tie through the plastic channels on the back of the go pro mount. There is a 90 bend the zip tie has to follow and it’s very difficult unless you bend the tip first. I also dremmeled the 2 plastic prongs on the front side of the mount (see photo with red mark) down 1/8” to 1/4” to get a good fit. Lastly, I cut off the excess Length of the zip tie and then dremmeled the sharp edge from the cut so I don’t rub a hole in my mask. Pro: Cheap and easy way to GoPro enable the mask you already have and love. Con: It’s about 200-300% overpriced. I think it should sell for $6-$8. But again, it’s cheaper than buying a $100 mask. I’ll use it in an upcoming dive video. A couple of minor issues with the product itself: - Since it's universal, you have to trim it to fit even on a ScubaPro mask. I have a ScubaPro Zoom. I understood this going in, but I think it could be better. - The channel that you push the zip tie through, bumps out on the underside of the camera mount and makes it unstable (it rocks side to side) against the frame of the mask. To improve this, I glued a couple of pieces of plastic to the underside and that helped. My issue: - I thought I'd video the entire dive and turn on the camera before entering the water. That worked. But it was a major pain going through the video trying to find segments to clip AND it was very jerky as I turn my head a lot. It's not for me.

It's goodbfor what it is as long as you understand what you're getting and you k ow that it works for your mask. .way way overpriced but hey I bought it.

Usato domenica, mi sono fatta aiutare per montarlo su una maschera Subea Decathlon che di solito uso per lo snorkeling ma che ho utilizzato per immersione dato che la mia maschera principale si è rotta. Immersione fino a 26m con un po' di corrente, la GoPro è stata al suo posto e ha fatto ottimi filmati. Ricordarsi di tenerla orientata di qualche grado verso il basso. Credo che assolutamente ne comprerò un altro per la maschera principale!
