I bought this for my Panasonic Lumix GH4, which I use as my B camera alongside my Sony FX30. Most of the time I use the GH4 with Panasonic's DMW-YAGHE Interface Unit, which provides full-size HDMI outputs, but on the occasions when I want to run the camera without the interface unit, this adapter is ideal.The GH4's built-in Micro HDMI port is one of the more vulnerable connectors on the camera, so I like having this fitted when I'm using the camera on its own. It lets me connect a standard HDMI cable without repeatedly plugging and unplugging Micro HDMI cables directly into the camera.As you'd expect from SmallRig, the build quality is excellent. It's compact, well machined and fits securely with no noticeable movement. I've found the HDMI connection to be completely reliable, with no signal dropouts or intermittent issues.I also appreciate how low-profile it is. It doesn't stick out very far from the side of the camera, so it's much less likely to get knocked while moving the rig around.If you own a GH4—or any camera with a Micro HDMI output—and occasionally need to connect an external monitor or recorder without a full-size interface unit, this is a simple, well-made adapter that does exactly what it's supposed to do. It's become a useful accessory to keep in my camera bag for those occasions when I leave the DMW-YAGHE at home.

This is a brilliant bit of kit that prevents port damage on your camera. I see this type of adaptor as essential if you use a camera rigged cage and are constantly connecting and disconnecting the HDMI cable, plus the added bonus of the jump up to a standard sized port from the micro HDMI. It's working very well with my Canon R5 to make it easier to use and extend the life of the port.The quality of build and general reliability makes it good value for money.

Its a good product but! why, I cant understand why is the cable soooo short it bearly fits to any of my cameras. It shout be at least 2cm longerPlease!

Fantastic solution for a my Sony camera.

I love my old Panasonic S5. The image quality is great and it’s a very versatile camera. What I don’t like about it is the micro HDMI connection. If you plug a cable directly between the camera body and a monitor it constantly disconnects with the slightest movement and feels very fragile.I have a Smallrig full size HDMI adaptor on the S5-IIx, one that has been used since owning a GH5. It’s always been reliable and easy to use so though I’d give the micro HDMI version a go.There’s not a lot to say about the adaptor. It fastens to the camera cage with two screws and then the short cable is plugged into the camera’s HDMI port. You will need two screws holes fairly close together but it’s not usually an issue with a Smallrig cage.It took a couple of minutes to choose where to mount the adaptor and get everything screwed and plugged in. The adaptor makes a world of difference. No more dealing with flaky micro HDMI sockets, just plug a full sized HDMI cable into the adaptor and off you go. No more disconnections, no worries about the durability of the micro HDMI fitting.A low cost solution to a problem that shouldn’t have been there in the first place. Camera manufacturers, stop using micro HDMI.

HDMI type-A to type-D adaptor.The Sony A7Cii has quite a few design flaws, one of them is the inclusion of a micro-HDMI port - it's very vulnerable and just waiting to get ripped off the mainboard. Fortunately Smallrig make this solution and it works very well, allowing full-size HDMI cables to be attached and removed with zero stress to the mini port itself. Note that you also need a camera cage to attach this to - many of which also have a cable clamp which further strengthens the connection.I do wish there was a version with a right-angle HDMI-D plug so the cable wasn't sticking out so much.

Ein HDMI Kabel direkt an eine Kamera anzuschließen ist ja an sich schon ein absolutes No-Go. Wenn die Kamera den auch noch einen Micro-HDMI Anschluss hat, dann erst recht. Denn bleibt man mit dem HDMI-Kabel irgendwo hängen, dass wirkt sich das direkt auf die in der Kamera verbaute Buchse aus.Mit diesem Adapter habe ich das Problem nicht. Denn da er direkt am Cage der Kamera verbaut ist, kommen die Zugkräfte erst gar nicht an der Buchse an. Außerdem ist die Verkabelung im Rig damit auch noch sauber und ordentlich. Eine Win- Win- Win-Situation, könnte man also sagen. Und bei dem Preis würde ich auch Budgetdiskussionen nicht mehr verstehen. Nicht mein erster Kauf und nicht mein Letzter.Daher: Absolute Kaufempfehlung für alle, die Ihrer Kamera ein anständiges Big bescheren wollen.
