If you enjoyed survival books like Bushcraft 101, The Edible Plants of North America Field Guide, How to Stay Alive in the Woods, and How to Survive the End of the World, then you'll love Surviving the Wild. Navigation, tools, first aid, and other su Review: Love his channel. Love the book. am simply learning from the Best out there .. ๐๐ป - Love his channel. Love the book. am simply learning from the Best out there .. ๐๐ป Review: There's Something For Everyone, Regardless Skill Level Here - Presented By An Experienced Guide - This book is an excellent resource for those just getting into bushcraft and self care in the woods and those who have spent years learning and practicing. I really like that this book is written by a former Green Beret who clearly has tremendous operational experience but who has taken a different approach with this book. While much of the learning that he has gained in a variety of situations comes through, this is really focused on practical bushcraft, tools anyone can develop and use in the kinds of situations that they are most likely to encounter. The vast majority of readers are more likely to experience getting misoriented or getting an injury in the woods than mortal combat. The book is systematically laid out and each skill builds on the other, I really like the way the author does that, it makes learning predictable and progressive. If you are a skilled woodsman, this will remind you of the basics and put a fine edge on. If you are a beginner, this book will be a well worn resource in no time, there's not a lot more you need than this book. UPDATE: I got another book and the kindle version. The next book was perfect, all pages intact. The Kindle version of the book has color pictures and they are much easier to see. This book is so good that I added the star back after getting the Kindle version. Pair Kindle with the printed book and you'll be very happy. You can buy the book on the author's website as well and those are all 100%. I took away one star because of the photos in the book, they are just too dark to be useful and because there is a whole section of pages missing which include some of the first aid and navigation chapters. It is super unfortunate. I hope that the publisher will see these reviews and correct it quickly. I'll probably buy the kindle version when it is corrected just to see what I missed! I look forward to reading everything this author puts out.
