Spyderco - Tri-Angle Brown Sharpening Stone with Medium Grit for Professional-Grade Finishing and Polishing Work

I can't believe I found the Spyderco stone for my vintage original patent pending that I purchased at boat show in Miami. The reason I expressed the above is because I had it since the 1990,s as of today it is still working like it did the first time 36 years ago amazin product. This is one of the best knife sharpener stone, and the last one you need to buy. I am purchasing the Stone as a backup set. It is very easy to use, perfect compatibility with stone, the price is a bit high but it's totally worth it. I highly recommend this stone, see the pictures of my 36 old stones.

Works well

My sharp maker had a chipped brown (medium cut) ceramic triangle sharpening rod. This rod replaced it! Best sharpener I have ever owned!

I was happy they sell excesseries for spyderco sharpener tri angle brown sharpening stone works great for sharpening knifes and also serrated knifes scissors fish hooks shears with other sharpeners cant do

I use these more than any other sharpening system. So quick and easy compared to Lansky and others.

Me being not so smart, smashed my original stone on the floor of my garage. This is exactly the same and just as great. I have written a review on the Ultra fine stone, this is a wonderful product. Capable of sharping any steel I have seen(I have 50+ pocket knives) . Zdp-189 no prob, s30v, even s110v easy. This is all to a point of course and assuming that you can maintain an even FINAL bevel,(the cutting edge). Not great for taking off a lot of steel on the harder steels. I found it difficult to reset the secondary bevel on a CPM-M4 Benchmade, but this is tough stuff. For the final bevel on that same knife though this will put a nasty sharp edge on the finished edge. Of course this not the final step with this system, and will not get the ultimate result, but as with everything that Syderco makes, it is a wonderful product.

This replacement was for one of the originals in my Spyderco Sharpmaker that fell off the counter and broke. THe first one was broken in shipping, but the second replacement was great. The videos tell you that rubbing the coarser stones together will give them better bit on the steel and this is true. However, this REPLACEMENT came with far better grit right out of the box. I'm curious why the kit doesn't have this effect? Oh, well Good product. Only 4 stars because, as I mentioned in my Sharpmaker review, I felt the item demos were misleading. Very good at fine-tuning an already good edge, but try to put life into something that's pretty dull and it could be a lost cause. It will improve it, but not make it shaving sharp. That's my experience.

I bought my Spyderco Triangle V sharpmaker over 25 years ago. It is nice to see that if I break one of the ceramic stones that this devise uses, I ma NOT out of luck. This system is easy to use and creates the perfect edge to maintain a SHARP blade for whatever your blades intended use. My wife loves the edge I leave on her kitchen knives as well as scissors and other cutting devices. It is relatively quick and easy to use and saves lots of money over sharpening services, and delivers the same professional finish.

Used them for 20 years, and I’m still buying them.

This is a medium grit BROWN stone despite the misleading name, but is a perfect and genuine replacement for the original

The Makesharp is the very best, easiest to use, most cost effective , basic sharpener on the market. But more than anything else, this vendor is fantastic to deal with!
