The charger unit looks very well made and displays a green light when switched on. This light doesn’t go out right away when the unit is disconnected from the mains but decays slowly. It is important that you check how the socket on the item you want to charge is configured is it + or - on the centre pin. This can be found on the charger unit you are replacing , an adapter lead is available. The voltage required can be set on the charger unit and a tool is supplied to alter this. Additionally there is USB A socket hiding under the bottom of the unit The next step is to choose the correct connector to fit the item you want to charge, a good selection is supplied. The only danger with this charger is if you use it to charge several different items which have different voltage requirements. If you forget to change the voltage setting you could damage the item you are connecting, by supplying too high a voltage. This charger is a great unit but you need to use it with care.

Although the description is accurate in saying that a polarity reverser adapter is needed for some devices I do think that the unit should include one... Other adapters have a polarity reverser feature... Having said that, the adapter appears to be well made, and unlike other adapters I've seen, there is zero chance of accidently changing the voltage and damaging a device by inadvertently nudging a switch.....I think this is a great safety feature - setting the voltage on this is a very deliberate act, which is how it should be....

I love these things, they cost what a specific charger costs but are flexible enough to charge almost anything. This one ended up replacing a 5v charger when i had to use a long extension cord and the voltage drop was just a little too much for the device on the other end. So i cranked this to 6v and swapped them out. I've bought a bunch of these, this one is on all the time in a warm cupboard and has yet to die months later.

Good adapter many pieces

The adaptor looked sturdy and appeared to be what I wanted. The plug end used fitted my Roberts Expression dab radio, but when fitted to the cable was not a firm connection. I used just the plug end on the cable and this fitted well. Unfortunately when the unit was switched on the radio had a horrible buzz and distortion. I left the radio in situ and switched off the adaptor. The radio worked clearly. I did this a bomber of times with same result. The interference did not clear with time. The best thing I could say about the unit is that it does charge the batteries. I have returned the unit and hope to get one that charges and supplies power to the radio without causing the sound quality to down grade.

I will have to use it for something else, as it is (200 mA) not (2 Amp) output.

Looks so promising and incredibly useful but unfortunately none of the bits fit and it doesn’t charge the tools I needed it for.
