In 1973, an alien species known as BETA invaded the earth, driving humanity to the brink of extinction. With no weapon powerful enough to counter the BETA's overwhelming strength, mankind developed large humanoid arms called Tactical Surface Fighters, and deployed them across the globe in hopes of driving back this unstoppable enemy. But despite their best efforts, the BETA threat could not be stopped, and after 30 years the human race is still trapped in an increasingly hopeless war with no end in sight…Now, in 2001, Imperial Japan struggles to develop a new generation of TSFs while continuing to defend their frontline. In response, the United Nations proposes a joint development program between Japan and the United States, one which will unite pilots from around the world in an international initiative known as the Prominence Project. Two pilots-Yui Takamura of the Imperial Royal Guards of Japan and Yuya Bridges of the US Army-head to the icy wilderness of Alaska in hopes of finding a way to stop the BETA once and for all. This is a Great Anime Series. This is the first collection of the series episodes 1-12 and Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse 2 is the second collection and I recommend watching both of them. Not disappointed. The mecha work well for the CGI they ...
To be honest, I was more a fan of the mecha here until I noticed they actually made an anime! Not disappointed. The mecha work well for the CGI they are done in at the time. Character designs are good and the PVC statues they have done are excellent! Good to have!

The show is great
The show is awesome, but this price is gotta be a joke. 200 almost $300 for a blu-ray. Are you kidding me?

Show in search of a plot.
<spoilers> This show is all over the map. It starts out looking like a grim series where earth has been invaded and humanity is being overrun and in danger of being exterminated. Mecha pilots are being slaughtered in combat against the aliens. Then it switches to a "Top Gun academy" show where pilots from different countries are competing against each other. It briefly heads towards harem series territory, then winds up with the mecha pilots all banding together against an attack by religious terrorists on their base. The aliens that were so overwhelming in the first couple of episodes somehow got downgraded to a nuisance that had to be cleaned up by the end of the series. Come on fellow anime fans. Nearly every series has about a 4.5 rating on Amazon. Does everybody REALLY think all anime series are great, or is it just that only the big fans of a show post reviews about it?

Excellent Series!!!!
Great quality Blue-ray wished the box had some inserts inside just only discs but love the anime series looking forward to PART2. Definitely worth adding to the collection.

画質は、結構、綺麗です、字幕は、強制字幕でしたので、初めは、うざく、感じましたが、途中で、字幕を、全て消す方法が、分かったので、楽しんで見れました。一応、字幕を、消す方法、書いときます、一話ごとにリセットされますが、それで良ければ、試して下さい！尚、この方法は、PS3でしか、試してませんので、他の再生機器類で、使用出来るかは、分かりません！試してダメだった人は、ごめんなさい！字幕を、全て消す方法ですが、まず、ソフトを、再生します、次に、トップメニューを、出します、字幕を、切りに、します、最期に、リターンで、戻ります。 これで、字幕は、全て、消えます。ポップアップメニューではなく、トップメニューで、全ての操作が、出来ます！この、方法は、焼き付け字幕で、なければ、他の、北米版アニメにも、応用、出来ます
