Excellent filter — misunderstood by many, but performs exactly as designed I own three of these filters, and I honestly couldn’t recommend them more for turtle tanks or fish aquariums. One thing that needs to be said up front: this filter is not meant to act like a vacuum cleaner for visible poop sitting on the substrate. No aquarium filter is. Its job is to process water, not clean the tank floor — and at that job, this filter excels. The flow is smooth and consistent, the design is easy to open and maintain, and it provides excellent mechanical and biological filtration. Waste that stays suspended in the water column gets pulled in and trapped as it should, while dissolved waste is handled by beneficial bacteria. If solid waste settles on the bottom, that’s normal and is what gravel vacs or turkey basters are for. I actually appreciate that it doesn’t have aggressive suction — especially for turtles, fish, plants, and inverts. Strong enough to keep water clean and clear without stressing livestock or sucking up substrate. It’s also very customizable. Sponges, floss, bio media — it all fits easily, and maintenance is quick and painless. The fact that it doesn’t clog or get filthy every few days is a plus, not a flaw. Bottom line: If you understand what filters are designed to do, this is a fantastic HOB filter. I’ve had great results running multiple units and would confidently recommend it to both turtle keepers and fish hobbyists alike.

Used to have a HOB filter but it was too noisy. Replaced with canister filter but was a mess to clean and pain to have to prime. Wasn't sure about internal filter for how much room they take up. This one is super quiet and even with being an internal filter, I was able to hide it behind coral in the aquarium. Ver please and would recommend

Quieter than I thought. I’m not sure the purpose of the air hose and I wish the label was on the back so it’s not visible but it’s flowing water nicely in my 30 gal so far and it’s quieter than I thought it would be. The attachment to the back wall is kinda upside down IMO you have to slide the connection up which allows the weight to slide out should be the other way around but I managed to get it to stay out after a few attempts. Worth the price.

I purchased this to kill an algae bloom in my 40 gallon fresh water aquarium and it has been running for a 8 days with very little change.. This UV light just isn’t powerful enough. It’s ashamed, I had high hopes for this and I was gonna purchase a couple more for my other aquariums but it honestly just doesn’t work. I have taken it apart and checked to make sure the light is actually on when it is powered and the bulb isn’t that bright. This device is one that can not be completely submerged in your aquarium. The top has to sit just above the water.. I would suggest looking for the UV light that can be completely submerged. That’s the one I saw on YouTube that got such great reviews. I thought this was the one but it isn’t.

I started out with one of these when my turtles were in an aquarium. Bought a second when they upgraded to a stock tank so I could have a clean filter in the aquarium. Now that they are adults I’m adding a second filter so I can have one filter at each end of the tank. The filters are quiet, easy to clean, and have stood up to the turtles “rearranging their furniture constantly.” I have mine fully submerged and laying horizontally due to the setup needed for my turtle breed and these filters have worked beautifully.

Love how it filters and does a good job. Hate it because it has the worse mounting device to the glass. The filter has to be disconnected into 4 separate sections to be cleaned (a good thing) but the connection clamps are a bear to separate...poorly designed. We've had this filter for almost 18 months and I'm ready to look for another one ... I cannot separate the 4 sections by myself because it takes too much hand/finger strength and I'm tired of how much work it is to remount it to the inside wall of the tank.

I have quite a few fish tanks. They range from 10 gallon to 125 gallon. I have never had any issues and always used canister filters with a combination of additional sponge filters. After moving my tanks into my new home I had a bedroom for the two bigger tanks and just having like a "fish room". It was closer to the window and even after putting black out curtains it was still causing the tank to evaporate water faster and get super cloudy. I had tried everything and nothing seemed to be working. I got this filter yesterday and by this morning it was SO clear. I haven't seen it that clear since before I moved. Thank you so much! I got this for a cyber Monday deal so it was 50% off and I am going to buy additional ones for my other tanks. If you are thinking of getting this, just do it! I had something similar but it was a "green machine UV killer" and it does nothing compared to this one. This one also is super easy to clean and take apart. :)

Great filter, keeps my turtle aquarium very clean. I clean the tank a lot less now which is great. However, this is my second purchase. I dropped my last one anout 2 inches off the ground and something inside came loose and it stopped working. Also some of the little parts that you have to squeeze to separate each section for cleaning are really hard to squeeze and seem liable to break if pushed too hard.

This is an awesome filter works great on my 90 gallon tank. I'm thinking of getting another for my other tank as I have the sponge filters for it which work good but with the adding of this one makes the tank increadable!

When I installed this product I thought that it is according to Saudi specs as specified by the Saudi Standeration Regulation which demands that any electric item. sold should be 220-240 voltage. It burned and was completely damaged when plugged in since its 110 volts. The damaged item is available if you request it. I am requesting that Amazon should give me my money back. Otherwise, I will file a complaint to the Saudi authority.

Our aquarium was never clear until we bought this filter. This is really worth buying.

This product is very costly Its filtering process is very low.
