| Product Care Instructions | Runner bean seeds need to be sown under glass in April or outdoors in May or June. They need to be planted between 15 and 23cm apart, with canes erected by each seed to support them when they begin to grow. Very Impressed!
I sowed these Suttons Climbing French Bean seeds in April, and they grew beautifully. The plants were strong and healthy, and I was genuinely surprised by how many beans they produced, growing in full bunches! It was a really impressive harvest. Iโll definitely be buying these again next year. Highly recommend for any home grower.

Extremely productive tasty beans
Recommended this variety by my brother and they produced masses of beans last year for my whole family and many neighbours. I used to grow the dwarf beans but these climbers produce many more beans over a longer period - was harvesting all the way through to October.

Those that germinated growing well
Germination rate has been hit & miss so far. These seeds were sown in an unheated propagator & kept on an indoor window sill. Following germination, they grew rapidly, at which point they were planted out for the slugs/mice to feast on, but are growing well. Germination has been around 50%, but, they are French, so .....,.

Earliest, most reliable bean ever!
I like early and late crops which this provides. Early beans stated in a propagator and grown on in large bags in polytunnel. Massive harvest from early June until mid July then itโs time for the outdoor crop! Never stringy. Start my autumn crop late July in tubs/bags for autumn crop. Bags dragged back into polytunnel to keep cropping when frosts start.

In my opinion, simply the best French bean
Over many years as a gardener, I have grown lots of different varieties of French bean, both climbing and dwarf varieties. I prefer the climbing varieties because of the greater yield from the same amount of garden space. Suttons โCobraโ is simply the best variety I have ever grown, giving a good yield of high-quality beans with an excellent flavour. They grow well outdoors or under glass so with a greenhouse for spring and autumn use, they can have a long growing season.
