The same way that you to claim to be American but buy Chinese made products. Just because a product is made in China doesn’t mean it can’t be produced for Americans, to American standards. what is the total length of the level

8 inches at it's longest piont, the best level that i have used in my 35 years as a tradesman.

Are there magnets on the V-groove side?

No... the magnet are in the flat side.
