I don't know what is different about this product but I always return to it for rashes and irritations. Excellent for my contact dermatitis with plants. Son loves it too.

This gel is the most effective balm for the idiopathic itching on my shoulders, upper arms, and thighs. I have no idea what causes these sudden, middle-of-the night bouts of insane itching—I only know what relieved it. It’s a bit watery and can squirt excessively as my sleepy, befuddled fingers fumble about to get some onto my fingers, but it seems they have improved the consistency and/or the dispensing cap recently. It still needs to be thicker or sold in either a pump (like hand sanitizer, since they are similar consistency) or as a roll-on, which would make it super convenient when one is fumbling about, half asleep, in the dark of night. I have 5-6 tubes all about my house and in every purse and bag because I’m afraid to have a fierce itchy attacking without a tube of TriCalm at hand. I love that it is steroid free. I relied on OTC steroid cream before TriCalm changed my life. It works faster and more reliably. I never leave home without it.

I needed a steroid-free bug bite remedy so I thought I would give Tricalm a try. My experiences with the product are as follows… I use it for mosquito bites. They cause me severe itching and drive me nuts! After applying Tricalm, it takes about 15-30 minutes for itch relief. That is longer than I would like, BUT after that, they never itch again! I’ve tried many other products and have always had to re-apply for a few days. To me, this is the real benefit of the product. I wish the initial itch relief was a little more instant, but I’ll gladly trade that for the long lasting effect. One word of caution, the product is very thin so be careful when you first apply or you’ll have more dispensed than you know what to do with.
