Tripod Feeders

By far one of the best feeders out there. Bught the elite version. Sits from 5.5ft up to 8ft! So simple to set up and toss some feed in. The elite model is a must have if you want your feeder high off the ground! Cool that you can mount up to 3 game cameras on it too for different angles in open fields!

There are a pletheora of feeders available and making the right decision is hard. This is easy to put together even if you don't have instructions. You can do it by yourself and have it running in a couple minutes. It's a cinch to set up and is pretty foolproof. I can't attest to the durability of this but it seems to be well built. I loaded 150# of corn in it on day one without problem. My only complaint is there isn't a way to make the feeder directional out of the box, but with a little piece of rubber and 2 rivets (or screws) you can easily remedy that. I've only had this a couple weeks but will update this review if I have any issues.

I bought this to replace a 30 lb hanging feeder because my girls were making a mess and wasting so much food by spilling it all over their run. Amazon shipping was fast and assembly of the unit was easy. I had this assembled, filled and up and running within half an hour. A small tip for new buyers, putting in all the bolts and wing nuts used to assemble the feeder body is a bit hard on the finger tips, so I used a cordless drill with a socket big enough to fit the wings of the wing nuts in, then used the drill to tighten them. It went quick using this method and no sore fingers. I put in three 50 lb bags of layer pellets and still had room for a couple more bags. I set the timer for 2 drops, one at 7am and one at 6pm for 4 seconds each. I ran a test run and layer pellets flew out at least 10 feet in every direction. This was not good for me, since my run is only 8 foot wide, so I took the metal body of the hanging feeder and bungee corded it in place around the spinner motor. Now the feed drops straight down perfectly and makes a wonderful clanging noise when the feed shoots out to let everyone know dinner is served! You could also cut the btm out of a 5 gallon bucket and use the bucket for a drop tube as well. My girls love it. They come running when they hear the spinner go off and eat every bit of feed with zero waste. I even added a 3rd cycle and upped the seconds for all 3 feedings to make sure they are getting enough. I have completely eliminated my feed waste and do not go through any unused feed now since it is all being eaten. Once I saw how well this worked I immediately ordered a 2nd unit for my other coop. I will never go back to hand feedings or hanging feeders again. I have these both set up under roof inside enclosed runs. I have no problems with squirrels or other varmints getting to the feed, so these should last a very long time. My next purchase will be the solar panels. I had one instance with caking, but this may have been due to damp feed I put in, because it hasn't happened since. I would give these 10 stars if I could. If these break, I will be buying replacements right away. Best chicken feeder I have ever owned.
