Niacinamide and the alpha lipoic acid in this product are both synthetic. The capsules are powder.

How large are the capsules?

The capsules are what I would call "normal" size. Imagine an over-the-counter Tylenol capsule. I totally agree with the previous answer.

How effective is this to reduce the LDL cholesterol?

It’s really effective to lower cholesterol plus it doesn’t make you have the sweat either. They have one in the drugstore similar to this name but I had hot flashes with it that’s the reason I changed over to this one and it’s better than having to take a prescription pill.
