That is a 1775FM so is a single action window device(WOCD) that doesn't have the button to push in like 1779FM but yes they both can be used on double hung.

will these work on awning style windows?

This particular type will not work on awning Windows. They do have several kinds so you may be able to find the right one.Good Luck
