Audio-Technica AT-VMN95SP Conical Replacement Turntable Stylus Gray

Since I had a few shellac 78 rpm records, I purchased this one. I heard that this stylus is particularly built for playing 78 rpm records. The stylus for 45 and 33 rpm may damage the shellac records. The sound output is decent. But I expected less noise. This stylus is not able to reduce the significantly.

Now I've got a high-end turntable that doesn't play 78 speed. So, why would I buy something like this? Well to transfer those 78 obviously. I don't need to play them at the right speed to get them transferred I can fix that in the computer. And when I do, the sound is amazing. This stylus track 78s beautifully and if you've never heard of 78 played with the proper stylus, you haven't lived. Nothing sounds like it. Nothing. Thank you Audio Technica for making this available. This is five stars because it snaps right onto my dual magnet cartridge when I'm not using my conical or elliptical stylus is on it. Being able to switch them out it's so awesome. You've always been an incredible company and I'm grateful that even the switch to having to use Chinese manufacturing hasn't ruined what you're trying to do to bring this type of experience to the masses. At an affordable price, I might add. Seriously, thank you. Five stars because they don't let me give you six.

Works great, and did the job well.

Fit perfect on my Audio Technica AT-LP120XBT. Easy snap in and out and great sound. If you want to play 78's, you will be amazed at the difference in sound using this stylus as opposed to other 78 players or turntables.
