What kind of metal are the rings (ie aluminum, enameled copper, etc)?

I know what AWG stands for. I was just telling you everything that was on the package. AWG is usually used for Precious Metals and SWG (Standard Wire Gauge) is usually used for Base Metals. It was not aluminum. It was heavy and looked like silver plated copper. There was also a note that the jumprings may chip if pliers are held too tightly. It might have been another coating. Sorry I couldn't give you the information you wanted.

Does it feel/look hefty enough to make a man's bracelet? Thanks.

The bracelet has substantial weight to it, but in my opinion I think it looks a bit too feminine for a man. It's pretty wide and lacy looking. Is it too heavy for a woman?

I don't find it to be too heavy for a woman. It is a bigger bolder piece of jewelry, but if you have an average size wrist I think it looks just fine. As far as actual weight, yes, it's a substantial bracelet, but in my opinion, at least for me, I don't find it to be too heavy.
