Separation of Power (3) (A Mitch Rapp Novel) [Flynn, Vince] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Separation of Power (3) (A Mitch Rapp Novel) Review: I'd give this 10 stars if I could! - Vince Flynn just gets better and better. I can't wait for the next book! To appreciate this book as much as posible it is best to have read Transfer of Power and The Third Choice which very nicely keep us up to date with the major characters in the story. I have even gone back and bought Term Limits which was his first book. I don't know if it is essential to go there, but this effort has been criticized by some and I am enough of a fan of the author and an aspiring writer that I would like to see for myself how the first one went. Enough of that. This book is so good that I realy just want to say that and hope it will be enough to interest you to buy it. Nah! All the good people and some of the bad from earlier books ae moving forward with their lives. Mitch Rapp, who is certainly a very important part of Transfer of Power only continues to grow in importance as the books unfold and in this book he is at his zentih. I continue to pray that we have a Mitch Rapp in the employ of the CIA. We all should, but I suspect that the last eight to ten years have cost us dearly in that regard. Suffice it to say that Flynn lays out all of the trip wires that are there in this day and age and very deftly manuvers around them. If you are into red, white and blue these days, you will love this book. If you are one who has reservations about what we are doing in response to 9/11, you will find instruction in this novel. If you are sitting in Bagdahd, working on weapons of mass destruction, you will pray this is just a figment of the authors imagination. In any event, this book is so worth reading that I can not recommend it enough. Review: Fantastic! - One of and perhaps the very best of the Mitch Rapp series. His tenacity and skills are all very evident, but you also see a more personal side that had not previously been displayed!

Reading Flynn is like watching a movie
Reading Flynn is like watching a movie. Having finished the "The Third Option," with its cliff hanger status of Hank Clark plotting and lurking in the Senate, I just had to plow right in... This was the first book in which Vince had me laughing out loud. He does some fun stuff with the romance between Anna and Mitch as they take a trip to Milan, Italy. What Mitch doesn't want to happen, happens with great gusto! I thought the scene with Donatella being brought to the motel room was the highlight. Of course the action is great, the plot is good enough, and the bad guys get it in the end. There are many books one can pick up at the end of a day. Mitch Rapp continues to be an easy read and a fun distraction. The coming back together of Mitch and Anna near the end of the story lacked some depth. I think Vince's worldview embraced Roman Catholicism, yet doubts the reality of any meaningful relationship with God, and because of this, he reflects our cultural morality in permissive sex outside of marriage, which he seeks to push toward marriage as he writes. The reader can sense his Roman Catholicism knocking at the door. He also doffs his hat to egalitarianism in the character of Anna and in the relationship between Anna and Mitch. Here again, his RC worldview seeks to show how the woman's lib framework can't cover all the bases of his "leading lady." For me, it makes Vince seem to work hard to keep it all together. Nevertheless, I appreciate what his faith does do to temper the color. I've not had to put his book down. Indeed, the action and tight plot, keep me up way later than my own conscience can justify. I guess we're sinners all.

Review of audi book version. Rating of 4.5 stars
STORY: Mitch Rapp, Anna Riley and Irene Kennedy are back. This time forces are at work to stop Irene Kennedy from being confirmed to the position of Director of the CIA and Mitch is torn between his work and settling down with the love of his life, Anna Riley. Not to mention someone has to find if Saddam Hussein has access to weapons of mass destruction and if he does, then someone has to stop him. MY FEEDBACK: 1) SETTING: Again we are in a current day world where spies, assassins and government conspiracies prevail. The world created is believable and functional but nothing super great or memorable. 2) CHARACTERS: I'm glad that Mr. Flynn is sticking with a working formula and brining the continuing adventures of characters we have grown to love. Thus if you have read the other books prior to this one there are no real surprises. The characters stay true to form though by now there is very little new to reveal about them. They work and they are still fun to read about. 3) PLOT: No major surprises, suspense or red herrings, but Mr. Flynn still develops a solid story that keeps you wanting to know what happens next. You know the good guys are going to win, but there is enough mystery to not know exactly how they will prevail above the opposition. Some may consider this formularic but it works and is still an enjoyable read. 4) READER: Armand Schultz is the reader of the audio book version and he does a good job. He has different accents and reflections for different characters, but not nearly the same "impersonation" ability as Roddy McDowell or some other readers. This was most noticeable when the female characters would speak. His very masculine voice was a bit distracting at such times. But he has a great Mitch Rapp voice. OVERALL: If you enjoyed any of his previous Mitch Rapp stories you'll enjoy this one. I almost didn't bother since it was such a long duration between reading the previous book and getting my hands on this one. But I'm glad I continued with the storyline and characters.

Great plot, great writing, likable characters EXCEPT Anna Reilly
I began reading this series a few years ago but then put it aside. I've taken it up again and I must say that I enjoy the writing style of Vince Flynn. It's fast paced but not too much so, just enough for the plot to be exciting. He includes enough details and descriptions to bring the story and scenes alive without getting bogged down and becoming monotonous. I like the main characters except Anna Reilly. I really do not like her. I thought it might just be me, so I read through the reviews to see what others thought. I found this review posted in 2017 and I could not have said it any better. "I don’t like Anna Rielly, but thankfully she doesn’t take up much story space. She is so wrong for Rapp, yet the author keeps trying to force her upon the reader as a counterbalance for Rapp. I think that effort is not working, and maybe even backfiring. I would not be saddened by her demise. Maybe she is supposed to bring a “gray” aspect to Mitch Rapp, but I don’t think it’s working."

Another Good One
This story continues to capture the deceit and corruption in DC in a realistic and captivating novel that is special. I continue to be impressed with the author’s creativity in coming up with new characters that add complexity and tension to this ongoing series. The villains really are key to a really good novel, especially when you have the DC crowd as the source for such characters.
