Great printer. Prints right from my iPhone with no issues so far. Great app features that accompany the printer as well. It's small and compact, fits right on my old desk. I don't print a ton of paper so I don't have any spilled over documents. Someone said they do had the issue so if you print a lot, I suggest placing a box/bin under neat to catch any paper. It doesn't print slow for me. I printed four papers in one sitting by time I was finish with all I had edit and print so was the printing tasks. Someone said it took them a while (what could you be possibly printing) I haven't printed any pictures. I use my photo printer for that. Just saying. Scanning is a breeze as well. Just place your document in the feeder ...under what looks like a handle... select between color print or black print and there you go. For me using my iPhone as a scan it printed very slowly. I hit scan option fed the document and followed the options. That was the only issue. But seeing as I can scan from the printer I won't need to scan from my phone.

I just received my order today. I ordered the blue. I bought it for very occasional printing and copying. I am a senior citizen, the reason i mention that is there set up was easy and we'll explained. I sent my first print through my cell phone and it came out beautifully. The printer does not do 2 sided printing but a little trick i used is, taking all but one piece of paper out start the print and because there is no more paper the machine will prompt you to fill the paper holder after the first page prints. Because there is no paper the machine will stop printing and prompt for more paper, giving you time to take the first page flip it over and re-insert it back into the paper holder. Then push the flashing paper button and the machine will automatically feed the page through and print your second page. It's a nice compact little printer. I gave it a 4 star because it does print very slow so i would not recommend it for someone in a hurry.

Every time I thought I figured out an issue, another one popped up until I finally sent this thing to the e-waste dump. First note, that the cartridges that come with it are starter cartridges and only contain a small amount of ink - even though they are big enough to hold much more ink. You need to buy a refill along with this. The next frustrating thing is getting it connected. Took way too long, and way too many steps. A printer should take 5 minutes to set up, not 2-3 hours. Finally, after getting it all setup, printing a few documents over the course of a month or two, I get an error that the printer door is open... except it's not. It's closed. No jams, or bits of paper stuck anywhere, printer heads are clean, everything looks great. The printer will even print a test page showing the printer works fine, but if I try to print my own documents it simply won't let me until I have closed the "open door". HP support was another exercise in futility and I finally threw in the towel. HP printers are cheap and there's a reason they are. They are very low quality. I have a brother black and white printer that I've had for 10 years and still runs great. I guess I'll have to spring for a high quality color printer with toner and avoid HP's inkjet garbage

I don’t like buying refurbished items and during the pandemic I needed a printer and the only one I can find were refurbished printers, they were out of all the new printers. The printer arrived a couple of days later and it’s exactly what I needed, small portable, wireless, all in one printer. When I ran out of ink I made the mistake to order instant ink because that made my printer obsolete, I couldn’t print anything even with new cartridges. Frustrated because my printer was working just fine and now I had to invest on a new one. Finally, after 3 days of trying to connect with HP and not getting the answers I wanted. I cancel instant ink, reorder new cartridges and my printer is back to normal. It’s almost like it ate something terrible and the new cartridges made it feel better. I have to stick to what I know works. Amazing refurbished HP 3755 at a great price and in great condition. Thank You!

Worked for a while and then couldn't keep it working.

Addendum 29 November 2020 (purchased in February 2020). The first several months with this printer were serendipity, printed great, but I only needed it a couple times a month. HP sent a spare set of ink cartridges early on as my first refill under its Instant Ink program. Went to print after a couple months of non-use in October 2020, photo colors were washed out and striped, like the heads had lost all control (more on this in Addendum at bottom). After several attempts to remedy it, printing test pages that all counted toward my Instant Ink quota, I gave up and installed the new ink cartridges, all was good again. Now, a month after that, went to print a letter with photos, back to the same problem. This printer unfortunately is no longer worth the pain and suffering to work through it. It was great at first, but then it let me down, bigly. My guess, someone who uses it regularly would have better results, as others reported the inkjet heads dry up if not used often. And a word about the Instant Ink Program. A reason for having this small compact printer is the ability to stow it away when not in use. However, HP sent frequent reminders to plug it in and get it on line so it could report on the 0 pages it was printing. I tried to do so for a day here and there to suit them, but the communications got more aggressive. Plus...the program of free monthly quotas up to 15 pages now has a nominal charge. And more, once I sent in the old inkjet cartridges I was hoping for HP to send replacements. Did not happen, apparently I have to print their target threshold of pages, which isn't going to happen with bad printing issues. Summing up, I had high hopes for this for my minimal use, but those hopes were for naught. If you are a potential buyer, here's some longer term experience, but if you are a frequent user, I encourage you to read below at what I found out of the box after a couple weeks of use. It's not all bad, just didn't work for me. ------------------- My 8 year old HP OfficeJet 6700 finally gave up the fight — would not load paper. It was originally purchased to print from iPhones and iPads, but gave way to a mono LaserJet Pro M227fdw, which is a workhorse (if you want a reliable mid-level all-in-one). Both excell(ed) at duplexing, which was a main requirement for my printing at the time each was purchased. As I defaulted to the LaserJet, I used the 6700 for color printing only, which was done in spurts, probably not averaging more than 10 pages a month, plus expensive cartridge replacement. Once I lost the color printer, I did an exhaustive, paralyzing search for a replacement, since the need was essentially just for simple color printing. The DeskJet 3755 was attractive in compactness, style/color, and price, but came with so many negative comments on multiple facets and no duplexing. Yet, no matter what I looked at in the less-than $200 variety, everything had similar faults, almost as if the same group of reviewers wrote the same reviews for every HP, Epson, Brother, and Canon printer out there. I eventually decided a $50 cost was worth the risk, even with reported slow performance, scanning issues, connectivity issues, and an ink-guzzler. I was also turned off by the reported “must provide credit card to set up” reports. No, you don’t, I did without it. But I later provided a credit card to join the HP Instant Ink program, which once you do the math, is a no-brainer at low volume…or actually any volume, with the flexibility to change or back out at any time. After a week or so, I can report it is not slow (in general) at normal quality, and the print is crisp, even with photos embedded in documents. Scans are crooked if you put them in loosely, as opposed to square against the right-side guide, and then the scan is as you would expect a proper scan to appear. No, it doesn't have a flatbed to scan books, ID cards, etc. I don’t care that you can only feed one page at at time, since I’m using my LaserJet for scanning. If you are copying voluminous ledgers or reports, anything other than loose pages, don’t buy this all-in-one. I have not and don’t intend to do color nor B&W copying, so maybe folks are right that it’s not great on this printer, though with a little patience, it probably isn’t that bad as reported. As for connectivity issues on initial setup, I was prepared for a mess, but was delighted by the simplicity, which I accomplished while on eternal hold with another company needing customer support; you could call it “distracted setup.” Perhaps the confusion for some users comes in the variety of ways HP offers for setup…through a downloaded mobile platform app, direct cable, or internet connection to your main computer, in my case a Mac OS. I opted for the mobile platform app. It was not always intuitive, but with few little hiccups, it connected well. I would offer to be sure your main computer downloads needed drivers, and once I did, I had no problems. I didn’t realize that until I went to the downloaded app for my Mac, that drivers still needed to be loaded, which took less than 5 seconds to do. For the record, those reporting they had to print 11 or more pages in setup...you pushed too many buttons that can give you status, etc, but really didn't need to be printed with setup. With initial setup I only printed three pages, one being the print alignment tool, which was optional (it was pretty much okay without doing that). I can only surmise that those reporting connection problems either had a network system that was tweaked for their purposes beyond normal configurations, leading to compatibility issues at first attempt to connect to this printer, or they possibly tried to mix steps of the options for setup if they encountered what might have seemed like non-response, in which case I discovered give it time. There are occasional blank screens that don’t show loading/setup action, which was working in the background. That’s one thing HP could fix. What actually scared me were reviews of poorly printed text, photos, and the like. As one or more reviewers have noted, that is likely a firmware problem. So upon initial setup I checked the firmware status and confirmed the latest was installed, likely when first connecting and registering. And as mentioned, there are a couple tools in the app to help you fix that. That said, there are no issues so far with print quality — text nor photos. It is what I was expecting, and surprisingly, not much different from the good old OfficeJet 6700, Rest In Peace. So I have a printer that I expect to meet my low-demand color print needs as well as ink resupply, that will hopefully be delivered without asking, just-in-time at low or no-cost. I decided I really don’t need auto-duplexing, I can just turn the page over to print the flip side, and I love the compact size and color styling. If it starts to let me down I will amend this review, but for now, 5-stars for a $50 unit, with pleasure! Addendum October 18, 2020: One thing another reviewer pointed out, that the inkjet heads dry out or clog up from dust over time, or a variation of that, just happened. After 8 months of very low level use, I went to print a color photo that at first printed normally but too small, resized it, reprinted, and the colors where very much washed out, almost negative-looking. Cartridge ink levels looked to be more than half on the HP app. I did a couple routine troubleshooting attempts like reducing pixel count, realignment test, and the like, but no change. I removed the inkjet cartridges, wiped the excess ink from them, and tried again, no change. So I installed the new jets the HP program had sent upon signup and everything again worked fine. I returned the old cartridges in the prepaid envelope from the ink program. Hopefully HP will send replacements automatically as they did before. But the foot-stomper here is use it more often than I have been and you should be A-OK. Still 5-stars!

We needed a small printer for our home and this is just so functional for its size! The size of the printer takes up very little space so its great to put ANYWHERE in the house. Since the product has wifi built in, the product doesn't need to be placed right next to the printer. As long as wifi can reach the area in your house, you are good. The product connects to 2.4ghz bands only, but that isn't really an issue since most routers have 2.4 bands and the range is much better on this band as well. The printer is incredibly easy to setup and also to print from your phone or tablet as well. Even with the size of the printer, it still has the option to print, scan and copy which is amazing for the size of this printer. We previously had a printer literally double the size with all these options, so finding this small printer (especially at the cheaper price) is just amazing.

I don't really have much to say cuz I'm no printer expert, but the size and price are amazing! It even has a program for how much you print so you can get ink sent to your home! Only issue I have is that the print quality is actually not great compared to school and work printers I've used. compared to a high quality print, I'd compare this printer's quality to be a 9/10 compared to the high quality ones. The print isn't exactly smooth around the edges, but if that wasn't an issue then the print would be perfect! Edit: It was the page. I used an old piece of paper and that's why it looked bad. I bought new letter sized paper and it came out flawlessly! One issue I have is that it requires a PIN from a router label which isn't located anywhere around the printer itself and isn't printing a sheet it said it would. That's a problem that I really would like fixed considering I did not previously know there was a pin. It also says that the password is "12345678" as default but that didn't work. I did not change any password or pin of any sort so that confuses me.

Let me preface this by saying I'm a pretty tech-savvy person. I don't usually need to use manuals when it comes to things like printers or other computer peripheral devices, because usually they're very simple and easy to sort out on their own. But setting up the wireless connection on this printer (as well as the HP Instant Ink feature) was a lot more painful than it should have been. I think most of my issues were a result of this printer only being able to connect to 2.4GHz wifi networks - it cannot connect to 5GHz wifi networks. Luckily I have a router that broadcasts both types. Next, none of the connection instructions worked for me - following the instructions in the manual did not work. I had to watch several videos and even then, those instructions didn't seem to work either. Finally, I had to download some sort of "Printer Doctor" software from the HP website and I had to plug the printer into my computer with a printer cable, and only then could I connect to the printer. On top of all this, the next time I turned on the printer, I had to go through the ENTIRE PROCESS all over again because it was like my computer forgot the printer - it was still listed in my printer devices section, but had the "Offline" status and was not able to print. So now I just leave the printer on (I think it goes into a power-saving/standby mode after awhile) so that hopefully I don't have to repeat all this again. But aside from these issues, the printer itself works well when connected and the print quality is great. Hopefully you have better luck connecting it than I did, because it really is a great printer!

Great little printer. We have an HP8720 which is great for scanning, and has all the features. I just need one by my work table to print out patterns and notes. I almost didn't buy it because of the reports about set up problems, plus my aggravating experience setting up the HP8720. The price was too good to pass up. Set Up took 3 minutes and I am happily printing away. It is perfect for my needs. I declined the "so called" 4 month "instant ink" offer, which turned out to be 2 months. There is no free ink as some people seem to think. The prices quoted are for 10 sheets a month. Read the fine print!! Opting out is dicey! Once again, read the fine print!

Set up was pure drama: won't recognize USB, won't recognize paper in feeder, won't connect to wifi. I just wanted this cheap-ish printer for basic printing, that's it: but when I finally DID get it to spit out a page, however, it took almost 2 minutes to print that one page: absolutely ridiculous. Added to all the other frustrations this printer induced, that was the final straw for me: I yanked the plug out of the wall and packed this miserable piece of junk back into its box, back to Amazon, and, I imagine, straight onto a garbage heap somewhere: good riddance. ALSO: what’s this nonsense about a ‘monthly plan’ to buy ink, it is so desperately trying to steer you in the direction of? HP is going to monitor, assess and then charge me for it's overpriced ink? I don't think so! I get mine refilled at some shop for $8.99 each...and don't buy this nonsense about it being 'inferior ink': again, utter nonsense. This ink-thing is wrong on many levels. AND: all the fancy, shiny features, like connect wirelessly, or send from your phone to the printer, are either obscured in layers of confusion, or flat out do not work: take your pick, same BS, different pile. Perhaps, though, it is me: perhaps my 20+ years of experience in the IT field is not enough to get these features working. CONCLUSION: life is far too short to waste time trying to get this thing to do what it advertises, especially when this paperweight doesn't even do the things it promises on the box. SKIP this lemon. I purchased this printer and it works just fine. Some reviews on amazon and a few other websites claim that the setup for this printer is "impossible". Either these people are completely inept at computers or they have a defective item. Many claim the instructions are too hard so I will do my best to explain it here. First off It requires you to install from the CD, so it's not plug and play. Once you have plugged the printer into your computer and turned it on, you will then need to install the ink cartridges. Open up the front panel that has the HP logo on it. The ink cartridge head should automatically reposition itself for you so you can install the cartridges. (Make sure the printer is turned ON when you do this). After you have done that you will need to install the drivers from the CD that is included. (or you can download the software online) Once you do that you're almost done. It will ask to install not really necessary software like to make calender's and other things. you can choose to not install that. I recommend then opening up the HP deskjet 3700 series software and click on "Manage Your Printer" and print a diagnostic page. If everything is aligned and there is no streaks on the page as the test say's then you're done. You can now start using your printer. I did a diagnostic print myself and everything was perfect nothing else was needed on my part. Printer prints fine and it prints pretty fast over all. The only "con" of this machine is that the paper feeder is at the top of the printer. It would save more room with people who have full on computer desks if the paper feeder was on the bottom in a slot.
