Works well with my Camera and spotting scope

I bought this for a late season elk hunt, where I knew that I would need to be glassing hills from a long distance before heading in. I know that I wouldn't have been able to find the elk like I did without this. It allows me look through my binos hands free, which makes me much more steady. Once you are in position and let go of the trigger it holds steady and doesn't move. I've gone on two Javelina hunts in Arizona. These animals are so small that you need to be able to hold very still to find movement in the brush. The first hunt, I didn't have this and never glassed up a Javelina. The second hunt I had this and was able to find them. I have a hunt coming up in Texas for Aoudad and this thing is going with me!

I picked this camera adapter up for my BogPod for a trip to Wyoming for Mule Deer and Antelope. I had also purchased a new spotting scope, and the BOGgear camera adapter worked great holding my new scope, a Kenai Leopold which is fairly heavy. The Bogpod held the scope very steady and moving it to see things was very smooth by squeezing the handle. I would highly recommend this as an alternate to buying a camera type tripod with the camera adapter, I believe it is more effective money spent, 2 tools in one, shooting sticks and a scope or camera holder.

I mounted a spotting scope to the BOG PCA (Professional Camera Adapter) and that to a BOG Adrenaline tripod. The pistol grip PCA was fantastic, locking at any angle I released the trigger. The problem: Once the PCA was locked, I could still spin the entire adapter and scope 360 degrees with zero resistance at the head (where the PCA meets the tripod). BOG support stated this is by design. I returned because every time I look thru the scope, any slight bump, nudge or even wind would disturb the image. I really wanted this setup to work, but without the ability to lock horizontal movement, I feel the Switcheroo System falls short for glassing.
