Tweezerman Professional Nail Files, Black Files for Acrylic and Natural Nails, (Pack of 3)

These files are great for what I bought them for. My nails are stronger than they were - thanks to my Biotin supplement, they're finally growing - but, they are still not as strong as I'd like. I'm having to repair them at times, using 'The Edge' brush-on resin and silk bond, because they are still breaking at the sides, often behind the quick. Usually, on my natural nails, I use a much smoother grit file - the old QVS silicon carbide files 320/ 400 grit - but, once I've used the resin and silk, on these nails, those files are wearing too quickly, and I don't have many of them left, so, I needed something more abrasive. These Tweezerman 180/ 240 grit files are just perfect. They're 3mm-deep & foam-cushioned, with a plastic 'spine', making them comfortable to use, being a little bit flexible & with the plastic 'spine', they will be durable, too, standing up a lot better than a wooden file to being flexed - this 3-pack will last me a very long time. I have a sneaking suspicion that these are silicon carbide, too - I suspect this, after I just (very gently) tried the 240 side on a natural nail & it left a smooth edge. Silicon carbide is the only abrasive I can use on my natural nails - aluminium oxide (emery) is too rough, it leaves my nails ragged & they catch on everything. A really cheap file, will absolutely destroy them. Another thing these Tweezerman files are perfect for, is smoothing the rough skin I get each side of my nails - with a few strokes, it's like it was never there. Now, I don't have to use my best files for that task, either. I'm chuffed with these & when the time comes to replace them, I will definitely buy these again.

These are the only nail files to get. I tried the coloured ones and they leave horrible marks all over the nails. These are amazing, last ages too!

I am sure these files are suitable for most purchasers, but I have very soft and flakey nails and they ate too rough. Ideal for toe nails though.

Finally I have found the best nail shapers on the market, I’ve literally bought so many different shapers and nothing shapes my natural nails and acrylic nails better. They smooth the nails and shape perfectly. I find they last really well too. Also great at removing builder gel too. Highly recommend.

Quite a big size to keep in your handbag but I have used them for the first time and they gave a very good result. I wish they offered a case to keep them in.

I have bought so many awful emery boards before I found these . These are tough enough to work but gentle enough to not rip my nails to shreds . Absolutely converted and won’t waste money on any others . These are the ones for me .

These are the best nail clippers I have ever used. They cut the nail cleanly and there are no rough edges or need to file nails. It is like I went to the nail salon but better I am beyond impressed.
