Does the ocean sound have seagulls or animal noises? My current sleep machine has an annoying seagull squawking away!

No, it's just the sound of the ocean. Very soothing.

Many sound machines play a recording that's on a loop, and you can hear when the loop starts over again. Does this do that, or is it continuous sound

The ocean loop is actually pretty obvious because it makes this weird clicking noise when it loops. I turned it off on the first night and switched it to another where you couldn't hear the loop.

Would this help someone who has ringing in their ears?

Yes. This helps so much. I had a fan and it caught on fire. Woke up immediately & decided this was going to replace the fan!

Any bird chirping sounds mixed in with the brook or rain sounds? I hate chirping birds and the homemedics version has this.

The different sounds didn't include bird chirpings... chirps can definitely disrupt my sleep. Good thing that this model doesn't have chirping.
