Can these be used in an outdoor gas firepit with "fire glass"?

We did try on our gas fire pit, as we sprinkled it on the flames turned color but it immediately disappeared so we just put a log on top of the rocks, got it a little wet so the the powder would stick and it worked great…so yes, it really only works with wood

Generally to change the color of something burning, you add metal salt to it. Just like fireworks. Assuming these come from China so they probably found a way to turn metal waste and tailings (toxic waste) into a profitable burnable powder. Mg Magnesium (none), but for burning Mg metal intense white Mn (II) Manganese (II) Yellowish green Mo Molybdenum Yellowish green Na Sodium Intense yellow; invisible through cobalt blue glass Calcium orange-red Strontium red Barium pale green Copper blue-green (often with white flashes)

How long does these last?

Remember to put them in the embers after the fire goes for a while. Then you can build up the fire again. Lasts about an hour. Green stayed the longest. Use 3-4 packs for best effect.

can i put these in my luggage when flying?

To fly with the Magical Flames, they must be in your checked luggage. They will not allow them in your carry on.
