Will this adhere to a slick surface such as aluminum flashing?

Paint especially rattle cans don't tend to adhere to anything slippery, you must at least use something abrasive against it to some degree even if it's only a scour pad just to rough up the surface a little bit.

Would this work in the spare tire compartment located inside a cars' trunk?

I have no idea I bought it cove a mount for a fish finder. I didn’t like it it didn’t dry maybe I put to thick a coat

Quality is good but not useful bescose you need minimum 3 spray for one tyre wall or wheel arch to cote. Then it works.
