Works fine on 2025 F150 using American ingenuity!
Well- here ya go! I traded in my 2014 F150 for a newbie (2025 STX) and was blown away by the price of the the OEM folding extender ($800+) which i just cant live without. Found this knock off for $229 on Amazon so took the dive! Product is perfectly fine but install is different than previous truck due to the aluminum body change (lack of threaded female)- there's just a hole in aluminum body. Had a couple ideas and here's what worked: I had a bedliner so after I removed the tail lights (need to do) I drilled a small pilot hole from inside the tail light well through the center of the hole where the installation bolt for the extender fits. Then took a thin piece of wood (1/4") and slipped it between the bedliner and the body. Then used a 5/8" forsner bit in the pilot hole to drill out the hole for the bolt in the proper location. Now the trick- to get the extender to secure properly I used a 10mm x 1.5mm lockout threaded on "backwards" because the rounded top of the nut threaded backwards seats nicely in the hole in the aluminum. NOTE: you'll need to run the nut on the bolt backwards a couple times BEFORE attempting the final install otherwise it's impossible to get it started backwards when in the tail light well. You'll need a T50 torx bit (Amazon for $6), a 17mm deep well sock and 2 of the lock nuts mentioned above. I did NOT worry about the "push to secure" locks that would require more fiddling around as I never used those in 11 years on my old truck! UR WELCOME!!!! ;-)

2025 Platinum F150 Instructions.
Works great and can be installed in 15 minutes with proper tools. 1. Buy Nyloc nut and nylon washers. 2 each. Metric 10mm course thread. 2. Remove rear tail lights. 2 screws on each. Pull out and disconnect wire. 3. Insert 4 grommets on top and bottom holes. This is where the locking pins go into. I had to pound in with dead blow. 4. Swap tall feet for small feet so locking pin can be secured (as needed) 5. Insert large torx bolt theough middle hole and insert on opposite side. 6. Insert nylon washer on inside compartment where tail light goes and secure with Nyloc. 7. Tighten using T50 wrench enough so slop is gone but still can rotate without too much force. 8. Put tail lights back on, attach two pieces in middle and test fit locking pins.

Good Product Lacks Instructions
The overhaul product is good quality and installation hardware is included. Unfortunately, their manufacturer does not include installation instructions. But, I was able to YouTube the installation. I did encounter one issue with installing the pivot bolt. Due to having a spray on bed liner, the bolt threads in my truck bed were covered over and I could not get the pivot bolt to thread in the hole. Being mechanically inclined, I chased the threads with an appropriate tap and installed the two bolts supplied though the bed extender using blue thread locker. Other than this minor issue, this bed extender will save you $$$ versus paying OEM prices, looks great and works as intended.. One more thing, the large rubber spacers that came on the top of the bed extender in open position had to be switched to the bottom to level the extender sitting atop the tailgate. I would buy this product again!

2025 F150 XLT SuperCrew: Great quality and perfect fit!!
2025 F-150 SuperCrew with spray-in bed-liner, and standard tail gate without the work surface: Perfect fit!! Since Ford did not include threaded holes, the only additional items I needed to purchase were two M10 x 1.5 nylon nuts and two plastic flat washers. This tailgate extender saved me hundreds, and the quality is great.
