Can i use this flosser in the uk, or do i need a special adaptor?

You will need an adapter for any US electrical appliance. Even with an adapter there is no guarantee it will work or will not burn out your HydroFloss. My hairdryer got too hot and never worked again.

How much noise does this machine make? I turned mine and it was loud and annoying. I had to rush using it and turned it off because of the noise.

It makes a good bit of noise but it is basically a small water pump that pumps water under pressure so not really surprising.
