A real professional review
It's finally here in the good old U S of A! Finally! I've had this tool for a few weeks now and I'm really pleased with it. It's lighter than it's previous brother the PS41. Its brushless, 2 speed settings and on & off switch for the lights. A lot of guys will say that it's not as powerful as the Milwaukee M12 fuel. My answer to that is. I don't care. I've used the M12 fuel line for a month. That's because I borrowed my friends set just to see how they are. He has all the M12 fuel tools which is very impressive in my opinion. In my opinion. They are heavy and not as compact as the Bosch 12v line. I borrowed them because they have a whole lot more tools than Bosch does here in the US. I wanted to be able to use them for awhile because I was on the fence of getting the Bosch Brushless tool line. So after using the M12 fuel line for a month. I decided that they were heavier and bulkier. But they are a great tool line. But Bosch's compact and lighter 12V tools won me over. I travel a lot for my job. This includes getting on a plane. With the power tools I need for my job. Going with Bosch was the way to go. I even ordered their 12V tools not available here in the US. I must say that I'm very happy with my decision. Now back to the Bosch PS42-02. It's a work horse for a 12V impact driver. Now that it's brushless. The batteries last a lot longer than before. It's has no problem driving 3" screws in a stud without any pilot holes. I'm a professional in the construction industry. If you're looking for a compact and lightweight impact driver. Then I definitely recommend this to tool for you. It doesn't matter if your a professional or a DIY person. This little guy will get you through the day and will be worth every penny that you spent on it. You won't be disappointed!

The PS42-02 is simply wonderful!
I've had this impact driver for about 2 months now, and have used it quite a lot. It has quickly become one if not my favorite go to power tools! It is very powerful for its size and weight. Very ergonomic as well.I have an older brushed Bosch 12v 1/4" driver (non impact) that I've had for several years. I honestly don't know how long exactly, but I know I've had it at least 5 or 6 years. It is a great tool that I use mostly with hex drill bits as a drill. I still have both of the batteries that came with it, and both are still going strong. I was in the market for a light weight 1/4" impact and the fact that the batteries have lasted so long with virtually zero noticeable degradation is one of the reasons I went with the PS42-02.This thing will drive 3 inch wood screws into 2x6 lumber like butter, and it's compact size and light weight means it does not fatigue your arm while doing it. I really do love this impact and think it has to be one of if not the best tools in its class.

When I saw Amazon saying frequently people return I was surprised,I had Philips before working on ladder 12Feet Al the time many times dropped this impact driver and never broke, I am very happy having this model it is very cool just touching it and feeling it when you are working small and very powerful, it comes with wonderful bag and a small surprise I loved itAfter 2 yearsI just came back here to have a look the price and see it is 4.6 star I am not sure why but this driver should be 5 star I already dropped my driver from 20f ladder many times and work perfectly

I’ve used Bosch 12V tools for years, so one of the biggest advantages of this impact driver is that it works with the standard Bosch 12V battery platform I already own. That makes it an easy addition without investing in another battery system. The performance is impressive for a 12V tool. Compared to my Bosch 18V impact driver, this one is only slightly slower in most everyday tasks, but it’s noticeably lighter and easier to maneuver in tight spaces. For the majority of fastening jobs around the house or workshop, I don’t feel like I’m giving up much power at all. The compact size and brushless motor make it a great balance of power and portability. My favorite feature, though, is the feather trigger. The variable-speed control is exceptionally smooth, making it easy to start screws without stripping them and giving excellent control when precision matters. Some impact drivers feel like they’re either off or full speed, but this one is very predictable and responsive. If you’re already invested in Bosch’s 12V lineup or want a compact impact driver that still has plenty of power, this is an excellent choice. The combination of compact size, solid performance, and outstanding trigger control makes it one of my favorite tools to reach for

Great Tool That Does Most of What You'd Likely Need, but Not as Strong as Competitor's
Very useful tool that does so much right, from installing or removing deck screws without snapping them to driving 3/8" lag bolts/screws into soft wood. It's compact size and weight make it a pleasure to use on a long day. However, know that its competitor (e.g., Milwaukee 2453-20 or 2454-20) has more torque, which can be very useful in certain circumstances. For instance, this Bosch will not drive 1/2" lags (yes, we did drill the prescribed 5/16" pilot hole) into soft wood. If you can live with the PS42's 975 inch-pounds of torque as opposed to the competitor's 1200 or 1400 inch-pounds, then go for it.

Excellent purchase !
Just excellent purchase !Everything as described. New, unpoend package, new, sealed battery inside. Not expect such a good service from Amazon, considering not very good expirience from previous time. Unit working as expected. For such a pretty low price I got very decent quality. Excellent backlighting, two speed, lightweigt and easy to use driver. Just what I looking for. Hope it will work well for long period of time.

Best 12V battery-in-grip driver
I’ve added the Bosch 12V line to my workflow so I have a lighter-weight but still robust option for use on-site. This driver is a tough and capable little guy. Quite torquey and surprisingly good battery life.Note: the grips aren’t petite. If you have small hands these might not work for you. I really like the Makita 12V tools for their handle-feel ergonomics, so consider them if the grip on the Bosch aren’t comfortable. Also people complain about the batteries being hard or even impossible to remove. I believe this is user-error - you need to push the battery in with your palm before and while you are pinching the tabs. If you squeeze the tabs while pulling out you are fighting them.So to remove the batteries:1) press on the base of the battery towards the body of the tool2) while still pushing, pinch the tabs3) remove the battery

Solid, high-quality feel and action
This driver feels very good in my hand. It’s so compact, and a solid build, exuding quality. The impact action is quite powerful, and hasn’t failed to set a screw from day one. Highly recommended for the price.
