A Must & Works Perfectly
Make sure you opt for the latest version of the Sabrent Hard Drive Disc Dock. The USB “C” version is the latest. The unit works perfectly. It recognized the 2TB target drive immediately. I used the dock to clone my PC C Drive. Now, if my C Drive crashes or locks up I only have to swap out the drives and I’m up and running. You can also copy from one drive to another off line - simple as pressing a button.I keep all my personal files on my internal D Drive. I’ll copy those over to a backup drive soon using the Sargent Dock.

It works just like you'd think
It was delivered quickly and works as advertised. I pulled the drives out of my old computer and put them in this to use as backup and extra storage. They immediately showed up in File Explorer and were accessible.

Tested and verified - 20TB drives are supported by the 2-bay, USB-C model (model EC-CH2B)
Tested and verified: 20TB drives are supported by the 2-bay, USB-C model (model EC-CH2B) of this Sabrent SATA hard drive docking station. I have been using it for two weeks with two Seagate Exos X20 20TB SATA hard drives, using the full capacity of the hard drive all the way to the top, and this docking station works flawlessly without a hiccup. I am running it on a Windows 11 laptop. I fully formatted the two 20TB drives using a full (very slow and complete) Windows NTFS format, not a quick format, just to make sure that the docking station can access the full capacity of the drive, and it formats successfully. Then, I completely filled the drive with data, all the way to the end, and read all the data back again, and it all verifies and works perfectly.I am posting this info in this review because the specs for this say that it supports up to 16TB, but doesn't mention 20TB. That's just because the manufacturer has only tested it on drives up to 16TB (I'm pretty sure that 20TB drives were not yet available when the manufacturer wrote up the specs). Conceptually, since this docking station has enough hardware addressing lines for 16TB drives, it will also work with 20TB drives (and higher capacities), but now I've actually verified this for myself.I really like this little SATA docking station. It's compact, so I can pack it up with me when I travel. It's quite inexpensive, which is a nice bonus. It doesn't need a user manual - like other SATA docking stations, you just plug it into a USB-C port on your computer, and it just works. It gives you two (potentially very large) hard drives connected to your laptop or desktop computer, to use for backups, or to store large external data files. Super easy and reliable. The one feature I wish this docking station had was 10Gbps data transfer speed, per the USB 3.x Gen 2 standard. Alas, this docking station only supports the slower and slightly older 5Gbps speed, which is USB 3.0 Gen 1. Truthfully, this is not a big deal, because the SATA III standard for hard drives only supports 6Gbps anyway, so the 10Gbps is overkill, and the 5Gbps speed of this docking station is almost as fast as the 6Gbps maximum speed of SATA III. But still, faster is better. There is another dual-bay SATA docking station here on Amazon that supports 10Gbps - it is the StarTech Dual-Bay SATA Docking Station (10Gbps). However, I discovered that for some reason that StarTech dual-bay docking station is not compatible with the USB-C shipset in my Clevo laptop. So, I got this Sabrent dual-bay docking station instead, and it works great.

Good speed, good fit, works with two drives at once.
I've had this for a few days now, used it to transfer some data without having to keep powering my PC off/on and swapping drives. I've had no issues using it, using multiple 3.5", multiple 2.5", or mixes at the same time. Just a basic transfer in Windows 11, reading from two 3.5" HDDs in this enclosure going to a SATA 3 RAID 0, was going at 60 MB/s per drive. Going to a SATA SSD was a bit faster, but I don't remember the exact numbers. The power cable is ~5 feet, which may be a problem depending on your setup, but it's easily solved with an extension.I had no problems with stability or fit with either 2.5 or 3.5 drives, even some odd-sized ones that I pulled from old external drives. I will say to make sure you eject the device through your OS when possible, and don't pull mechanical drives without giving them time to spin down first.I saw some reviews before I got this saying that only one drive was accessible. If that's the case for you, you may want to swap the drives in the bays of the enclosure to see if the same one is visible, and check your disk management software to make sure your disk is mounted/initialized.

Great for cloning HDDS W OS! BUT
Geat for cloning hdds w OS but cloning one storage hdd to another in stand alone mode will not wok.It does not work since it's a exact copy w same drive letter. So pc can only read one hdd.at a timeSo to make copied ypu.must use your pc, since I already had a dual hdd dock, as well.as acronis which I use to clone my OS drive.Product works great for cloning os in stand alone feature.Just wish ad would of stated the issue doing storage drives.Still great Product but did not needWhen you do that and want to read both of your storage drives it can only read one at a time !The A drive has I guess you would.call boot able software which is great when you C.drive that has your OS .But if your just doing storage drives is a pain as you can only read one of the other which means you have to pull one out.Say I cloned one storage to another it can only read one at a time.If I wanted to add anything to both it would require one be pulled out. Sorry don't have proper tech terms.Contacted cust service and confirmed that is the way it worked.Perhaps a updated model would let you turn off the bookable feature on A drive.Another feature I would like in the future would be able to clone SD storage cards, with.cards getting larger I hate to tie up pc doing that.For.thr cloning C: hd w OS this product is outstanding, now how about a updated version that would cover.the issues I mention in not a too technical way huge

Super Convenient and Fast for My Drives
I got the SABRENT USB Type C SATA Dock to connect my 2.5” and 3.5” SATA drives externally, and it’s been fantastic. Setup was a breeze—just plug and play with no extra drivers needed. The USB-C connection makes transfers fast and stable, and it supports both SSDs and HDDs easily. I love that it can handle both sizes of drives, so I can swap them out whenever I want without hassle. The build quality feels solid and the dock holds the drives securely. I’ve used it for backups and data recovery with zero issues. If you work with multiple SATA drives or want an easy way to access old drives, this dock is super handy and reliable. Definitely recommend it!

EC-CH2B Fails on some Advertised claims (hot-swap) but is a fast and stable HD controller.
Okay, before I get flack for the headline, let me attack that up front. Right away I tested by starting a delete operation on a disk as I got ready to start browsing the contents on another old drive before I got down to business to delete it as well.Well, inserting a new drive into the enclosure triggers a reset in the controller meaning that any operations you were engaging with get shut down as the drive is brought down temporarily as the controller resets. It is unacceptable behavior to advertise "hot swappable" when the drive in fact--is NOT hot swappable. The enclosure should be able to gracefully handle removing and adding disks while work is being done. The other problem I ran into was that I'm dealing with some old SATA 2.0 drives, which should max out to roughly 120-130Mb write speeds each. The GOOD news, is that the enclosure absolutely allows max speed reads and writes! The first image (131MB/s) was in running sdelete on two drives simultaneously, which was disappointing--we were topping out around 131MB/s for two separate drives. After killing one of the jobs I watched the rate drop from 131MB/s to the expected ~120MB/s (Bursts up to 160MB/s)My SATA 3.0 drives operate beautifully with sustained writes of 200MB/s==Cloning Performance==This is where other reviewers have noted performance varying across the board I tested this with old tech, cloning a 500GB WD5001AALS from a Samsung HD501LJ The clone completed in 2:06 for a full duplication Of lesser importance (since this was a raw test of zeroing a disk) is that the cache sizes were different and there's at least two years between the drives. In other words, if there is a problem due to hardware discrepancy--I would have pulled that out here. I would gladly use this to dupe drives offline, it was actually faster than how long it took to zero the drive in the first place. (~2.5hrs)In conclusion, I'm incredibly happy with the product, it serves exactly the purpose I needed. So why the negative review?*Don't lie about your product features!* Screenshot here includes the words on the box: "Plug & Play, Hot swappable"However, your product doesn't allow you to read/write from drive A and insert a drive into drive B's slot without breaking everything that you were currently doing. I am loathe to try other, larger models fearing that the exact same problem exists there too.If it wasn't for that misrepresentation, this is a 5* product.

Works well but not very solid build quality
2 old SATA HDD drives installed and connected to 2021 MacBook Pro 16" via Lazer Thunderbolt dock. Works well with transfer speeds expected for SATA drives - 6GB Time Machine backup was completed in about an hour. There's some play in the HDD connection even when fully seated, and I'm not sure I'd want to keep taking the drives in and out as it would be easy to damage. Overall build quality is light, almost flimsy, but since I'll be leaving the drives in situ, it shouldn't get much wear and tear. Great for my intended purpose and not expensive. If you're looking for a robust unit that you can regularly swap drives in and out of, this might not last.

Power Supply
This is a reliable product and works well at reasonably fast transfer rates. Be careful where you buy since your purchase may 'not' include the power supply for your country. Sellers only sell product as is ...
