Motorcraft BT-106 Belt Tensioner

Worked like a champ, gotta trust those Motorcraft partsJuly 9, 2019The part failed after 15K miles. The tensioner sort of locked up in original position and would not tension an old Motorcraft belt bought new that was over 10 years old, now 13 years old.I suspect the inside coil spring was rusted before I bought it and 15k got broke it. You can shake it and hear it rattle inside.I’m not buying auto parts from Amazon anymore. Who knows how old this part was when they sold it to me.

Something to be said for OEM parts. Original one lasted 15 years and 180,000 miles. $35 aftermarket one lasted 10 months. Never again with aftermarket stuff. Definite design difference, much more robust. Should outlast the car - an extra $20 spent last year to buy this OEM part would have saved me a tow and ruined belt

Fixed my wife's 2004 ford focus 2.0 Dohc belt issues. Car feels alot better. No more squeels with an old loose tensioner.

Worked great on a 2001 Ford Focus SE DOHC Automatic. Purchased this one when the brand new Gates brand part failed to keep belt tension at idle. I guess maybe there is something to be said for genuine Ford parts with the Motorcraft name. Cost is more than double the Gates part price but it works! Money well spent.

Does NOT fit a 2005 Focus with 2 Liter engine. It's not even close. Luckily I was able to remove the new pulley from the arm and put it on my old tensioner arm. The bearing was worn on my old pulley, but the rest was OK.

Nothing wrong with the part, but Amazon fitment guide says this will work on a 2009 Focus SE.It did not fit.

It doesn't fit my 2005 ford focus wagon. Bolt holes did not match. Part itself looks different. I removed the pulley and put it in my old tensioner. Works fine. Part is very good quality. Original ford and made Inn Canada. Seller should show distance between bolt holes - 8 cm and 7 mm. My old is less than that.

We can trust Motorcraft quality. Do not buy the cheap thing anymore. This item is great fit for 2003 Ford Focus zetec2.0 motor.
