Ciro Marchetti has situated the traditional German fortune telling deck at the turn of the 19th century in Victorian England. In this expanded gilt deck with three additional cards, rich images tell the stories of the workers as well as the wealthy during the Industrial Revolution. Using augmented reality, via the Aurasma application, Ciro has brought the Fin de Sicle cards to life in stunning, new ways. Guidebook with interpretations by three expert contributors. Includes 39 cards. Review: Another beautiful, old-school fortune-telling deck by Ciro Marchetti - I was very excited to see another oracle deck by one of my favorite tarot artists, Ciro Marchetti. I have spent a considerable amount of time working with his "Gilded Reverie Lenormand". As someone who grew up in an environment where the women read fortunes (old-school) with a regular deck of playing cards, these minimalist type of decks are right up my alley. I can see where they (my mother and aunts) got some of their inspiration from (probably the "Gypsy Witch" fortunetelling cards and Lenormand-type decks). When I say minimalist, I don't detract from Ciro's artwork at all. The Kipper deck, like all of Marchetti's decks, is beautifully, thoughtfully illustrated. Whether you are looking at character-oriented cards (such as: Main Female, Mature Man, False Person, or Privileged Lady) or cards such as Lovers, House, Change, Sudden Wealth, Bad Health, or Coffin) the graphics effectively depict the depth of the meaning behind the one or two words on the cards. After a brief period of time working with this deck, the studious reader will not need to rely on the book to interpret these cards. It starts to become second nature (the ability to interpret the card yourself and then to blend that interpretation with the meanings of the surrounding cards in a spread). One complaint I have is that the Kipper deck is not the same size as the Lenormand (the Lenormand deck is slightly taller). It makes (shuffling) using them together rather cumbersome. I tried this a couple of times and have found that if you are going to do this, the best way to incorporate them together may be to shuffle both decks separately. I lay out the Kipper deck first then cover each card in the reading with a Lenormand card for more information on the Kipper card underneath. I find this works extremely well. With the Lenormand trimmed in gold and the Kipper in silver, you almost think they were meant to be used paired together. Unlike the Lenormand, the Kipper deck is comprised of a lot of character (people) cards. So using the Lenormand alongside the Kipper deck can really enhance a reading. Give it a try (if you have both decks) and see what you think. As mentioned by other reviewers, the artist chose to give these cards a British Victorian feel, though this deck originated in Germany. He also chose to add some extra cards to the deck. This only adds to the uniqueness of this deck. The cards are small, easy to shuffle and the box, is well made. The booklet to the Kipper deck, unlike the one for the Lenormand, is bound and well-made. It provides interpretations from three different people for each of the cards (sometimes they reinforce each other's interpretation, sometimes these three viewpoints provides a little more insight into the meaning of individual cards). I love the tarot, but sometimes, if you are like me, you want some information on the nitty-gritty, day-to-day world that the Tarot seems to sometimes dance around. Death, illness, birth, luck, career success or failure, love, marriage, divorce, etc. Yes, these cards can scare you (life isn't always pretty) at face value. As a regular reader of these types of oracle decks, a coffin (or death card coming up, or a thief card) doesn't necessarily mean you or someone is going to die or get robbed. It can still carry metaphorical meaning instead of a face-value type of interpretation. I look for patterns....do these cards come up with more frequency than usual. Do they always seem to appear around the main person, or a particular individual (the child card, for example)? If so, then take special note as it could be trying to tell you to guard your health, brace yourself for some sort of disaster, or prepare for some good times ahead. But, remember, nothing is pre-ordained to happen. All in all, it's another wonderful deck by Ciro Marchetti. This, along with the Lenormand, are two decks I work with frequently. I find the information and insight I receive to be extremely helpful and I recommend this deck to both experienced and novice fortune-tellers. Review: Good Buy - Nice cards. Larger than what I expected. As a Lenormand reader, these cards are refreshing. Very to the point. No guess work. Card stock is nice. Shuffles well.

Gorgeous!
I'm fairly new to reading cards and this was my first Kipper deck. It's a Marchetti - what more needs to be said? If you're into 'the cards' you'll be familiar with his many beautiful tarot and oracle decks. I love his eye for the sort of detail that makes reading his cards so easy and the included guidebook does a great job of giving enough information for the reader to apply to their reading while still allowing plenty of room for the reader's intuition. The included spreads are always a draw for me and the SOS spread was a great way for the cards to 'introduce' themselves to me. The cards themselves are of quality stock, equal to a very good deck of playing cards and I have confidence these will hold up, as there is no wear after a month of using them daily. As for how well they work? I've already had things I predicted in a reading come true - nothing earth shattering, mundane everyday life things - but still great fun. If you're looking for a Kipper deck, you can't go wrong with this one.

Love them already!
I got these and the gilded reverie lenormand deck today. I am not even remotely new to tarot, sort of a little new to lenormand, but def a newbie to kipper. And i can tell, im going to love them already! They just get straight to the point lol They are simply gorgeous... beautiful images with a lovely silver edge on the cards. Ciro Marchetti is an amazing artist and i love his cards in general! These are about the size of reg playing cards. Even the box is lovely, with a magnetized flap. I love that the size matches the gilded reverie deck.... they pair together seamlessly... Its almost like they were made to go together. Ill def be using them together.

Great
I purchased the Lenormand deck by the same author and that's still my favorite deck but I decided to purchase this one because I loved that one so much. This is a beautiful and I love it. My only complaint is that I'm confused about the accuracy but it's a fortune teller deck so I'll have to update this and see how accurate this reading will play in the future. The Lenormand deck blows me away with accuracy. This is a gorgeous deck but I wished there was more cards in the deck for the cost. The cards are smaller and easy to shuffle which is a positive to this, I prefer smaller cards with my small hands. ๐ Highly recommend

Matte Finish Instead of Clear Gloss
I already had a deck that I bought from a metaphysical shop, those had a clear gloss card. These cards have a matte finish. It doesn't matter in the grand scheme but these had a slight tear on the back of one of the cards. Nothing the seller could do as it was wrapped that way. I worry about the longevity of the cards since my clear gloss ones have lasted years with no tear.

Great cards
Love these, but they take a while to break in. Very glossy with gilded edges. They will improve with time. Highly recommend.

MOLTO BELLE

Stunning cards!
I absolutely love these cards! They are a unique entity of their own. Iโm a professional tarot reader of 25 years and these cards compliment all my readings by providing more information which Iโm able to give in accurate detail. The cards themselves are quality with their beautiful silver gilded edging. The images are easy to read as an intuitive reader with lots of detail to hone in on. The booklet is detailed and thorough for anyone preferring to read the cards via the information provided in the book. Itโs a great learning guide to get to know the cards but in all honesty the energy from the cards themselves makes readings easy and detailed for professionals and beginners. The box, I love the box! With its magnetic closure itโs easier to get the cards out and put them away again. Made with beautiful quality and thoughtfulness. These little touches make this deck an absolute delight!

Great deck
I love it !!! But I would much prefer that they were a little bigger. Standard oracle card size. But thatโs OK. I can live with that. Itโs a great addition to the current decks that I use. Without the fluff. Cuts straight to the point which is what I want!
