From the creator of Valuetainment, the #1 YouTube channel for entrepreneurs, and “one of the most exciting thinkers” (Ray Dalio, author of Principles) in business today, comes a practical and effective guide for thinking more clearly and achieving your most audacious professional goals. Both successful entrepreneurs and chess grandmasters have the vision to look at the pieces in front of them and anticipate their next five moves. In this book, Patrick Bet-David “helps entrepreneurs understand exactly what they need to do next” (Brian Tracy, author of Eat That Frog!) by translating this skill into a valuable methodology. Whether you feel like you’ve hit a wall, lost your fire, or are looking for innovative strategies to take your business to the next level, Your Next Five Moves has the answers. You will gain: CLARITY on what you want and who you want to be. STRATEGY to help you reason in the war room and the board room. GROWTH TACTICS for good times and bad. SKILLS for building the right team based on strong values. INSIGHT on power plays and the art of applying leverage. Combining these principles and revelations drawn from Patrick’s own rise to successful CEO, Your Next Five Moves is a must-read for any serious executive, strategist, or entrepreneur. Review: High Octane Entrepreneurship - It all starts with a winning aspiration. The proverbial fire in the belly, coupled with abundant courage and an American Dream. The rest, as they say is history. This book is about human Potential, Passion and Purpose. This is the story of an Iranian refugee in our generation who has made it big in the land of opportunities. This is his business story, with key lessons on entrepreneurship. The author says that there are three kinds of advisers. 1. Theory: Well-read individuals with degrees from prestigious universities, typically professors and consultants. 2. Witness: The advisers who have worked closely with entrepreneurs and CEOs. 3. Application: The people who can tell you what they have done, that has worked for them. The author does not (fortunately) have a formal college degree. But he has taken time to read over 1500 books on business. This book is his first-hand experience of Application. The Five Moves, compared to the dozen moves that grandmasters plan in the game of chess, follow a clear framework (Simon Sinek) – WHY (CLARITY on what you want and who you want to be), HOW (STRATEGY to help you reason in the war room and the board room. GROWTH TACTICS for good times and bad) and, WHAT (SKILLS for building the right team based on strong values. INSIGHT on power plays and the art of applying leverage.) Each of these five moves need to be thought out clearly and undergo iteration and constant course correction. While many of the concepts in the book can be found in leading business books, this book excels in giving deep, specific, actionable insights. As an example, the team members are categorised as - Stranger, Endorsed, Trusted, and Running mate. Running mates are those who can always be trusted fully for their competence, integrity, and high performance. They are the extended fuel of entrepreneurship that need no supervision and propel the firm to greater heights. Speed is key for growth. Be it Functional speed, Process speed, Expansion speed or Timing Speed, as explained with excellent examples. Success is not about Linear growth, which can be managed by Operating Systems coupled with Business Development. Exponential growth is fuelled by the twin engines of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. This is a paradigm shift in the mindset of great leaders who generate momentum for speed and growth. This book is equally relevant for Intrapreneurs (who think and work with an entrepreneurial mindset in established well run great companies). Most often, bureaucracy and hubris are the twin curses of big corporates, where titles and hence entitlement rule, especially at senior levels. (They work in their business, but not on their business. Physically present, but mentally retired, they enjoy comfortable corporate lifestyle, fat salaries and look forward to happy official retirement. Insecure leaders are surrounded by ‘yes’ men who are rewarded for being ‘highly aligned’.) This rot needs to be stopped, to arrest the decay and prevent the accelerated demise of the leviathan. This book is a wake-up call for top leadership, to reignite, reinvent, revive such organizations and to reward all stakeholders. Work as if it is a new company every day. God speed ahead. Review: It's The Holy Book for Entrepreneurs & those that want to get better in life. - It's a book that you can come back and read it again and again. I am Sai Prahlad K, Entrepreneur, International FIDE Rated Chess Player, and Coach to over 300+ Kids and adults. I have gifted this book to my core team, top performers at our academy, and to my important circles. I read the book cover to cover in under 16 hours. Writing this review after my first read. The book will give you clarity and understanding, it delivers what is promised. But what you gather will depend on where you are at in life. Some of the later portions of the book you can understand it, but won't feel it till you experience them. Hence I recommend multiple reads or pondering, Dyana (meditation). Patrick has written in such a way that it's not boastful or egotistic but takes the point across to the reader. The book is full of examples from Patrick's own life and many others. In this sense, it makes it kinda like an autobiography as well. I personally loved all of those areas, especially those were destiny was guiding Patrick. Example Edwin backstab, his dad's heart attack, Dotty, Personality audit, Cathy Larson on approach, Shut down by Katty on his ideas, Ray Apparel investment, The big competitor suing Patrick on day one, and few others. if you read the book you will understand these are key events that happened in Patrick's life. Though it wasn't beneficial in hindsight, on the deeper level it was destiny guiding him to where he is today. The book also has many tools and techniques that you can use when facing challenges, as well as what not to do in business and life. It's riddled with golden nuggets and tactical steps. For hiring, firing, approaching investors, bootstrap, knowing people's mindsets, due diligence, steps to overcome problems, creating a comp-plan, building a team, understanding oneself. Hence, requires more than one read, and to be on your arsenal when facing challenges. It's a no brainer, must have read, more so if you are an entrepreneur or someone who wants to succeed in life. The best thing money can buy! I would also recommend gifting this book to people above your circle. People in power appreciate books. My favorite part is the example of IBM founder's vision, plan, and execution. Patrick did a video on this on Youtube (check it out). I took that example that was on the book and changed from' Building a Great Company' to 'World Champion' and taught to my kids (students). it was a very powerful message. You should do it too. Use the book to teach. Thanks, Patrick for creating this amazing book. I would love to read your next book which may come in a few years/decades. Can't wait! If you are free would love to play a game of chess with you, show you how I combine chess, business and life. Cheers, Sai Prahlad K from India

Good motivational book
It's a good quick book on motivating you to think through while trying to do well professionally. Writing is easy and impactful. Though nothing new to learn here but it's presented well by author who has been through the grind and came out successful.

Possibly, the best business book of the year.
The Short version - This book is a lot different from other business books as it gives you the advice along with ways to implement that advice in your day-to-day life, which most books don't. Read this book and not just read it, but try to apply what's given, because it's very easy to apply. The advice is amazing, and for a business fanatic like me, this book was a treat to read. Anyone who is interested in improving their business must read it. The long version- This book surprised me. Firstly, I read a lot of business books. When I picked this book, I thought to myself, 'What more can another business book teach me?'. I was wrong and this book has a lot of new concepts. I was surprised when I finished the book. It was amazing, a lot better than I expected it to be. The book picks up on the analogy of a chess grandmaster, as to how a chess grandmaster can think 6,7 and sometimes 10 moves ahead. That applies in business too. In order to succeed we must think five moves in advance. This book clearly focuses on exactly that and how you too can achieve that. The book is not too long and it is not too short. It offers you the information you need without using any unnecessary matter. It doesn't offer far-fetched ideas which are impossible to apply, but gives simple and actionable, yet effective advice on how to move your business forward. The book is divided into 5 moves, and tells you in each chapter how you can master these moves. These moves or strategies span all the spheres of a business. The advice is so simple yet profoundly useful to all those who aspire to grow a business or are looking forward to start one. Unlike most of books out there, which give you glorifying advice but fail to tell you how to implement them, this book gives you the ways to execute what's given in it. And all the tips are not a rip-off of previous business books, but taken right from the experience of the author, which you can easily apply in your personal and professional life, no matter where you are or what you do. In conclusion, this book is a new breeze in the world of business books. With it's simple language and breezy text, the book hits you with quite a few useful tips and advice, which can be quite useful if applied the right way.

Power packed content. Life changing when applied....
If you're serious about becoming the best version of yourself & see yourself/are a leader, this book is a must read. I'll break it into 2 parts: 1) Self Analysis - This book is like mathematics for self discovery. Not only does it help you identify your purpose, it gives you a systematic approach to get there. Content is power packed & precise. Each page has a lot of juice. 2) Tools - This part is pretty vast, it talks about a multitude of tools, strategies & ways of thinking that help you plan ahead, factor in contingencies & execute effectively. Input needed while reading: Self Analysis, patience & honesty with yourself Output: Clarity, self discovery, confidence & growth (Personal & monetary) I have done years of research on self mastery, having the right attitude & business. This book is like a consolidated+advanced version of everything I have read so far. Thank you Patrick Bet-David for writing this book, you've made a massive impact on my life.... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.......

Worth the time and money reading - But..
I consider Pat as my older brother/father figure. I've read 100+ books on business and life, spent 2000 hours listening accredited podcasts in past few years, I'd highly recommend this book for a young entrepreneur who wants to know what he doesn't know, with its spice. But I have a complaint, as much as I'm thankful you enlisted all good books in the end, I felt many chaps like chap 4, chap 7, chap 15 and a bunch of subsection could have been more deeper. It felt like skimming through a valley of ideas and information. But you did warn us about it in the beginning, just would have loved to read more in-depth. Each "Move" (section) of the book could have been an individual book.. which I would 100% read. Conclusion : This book is 5 books in 1, it will be worth your time. It's going to give you lots of ammunition to get going (as Pat had told me in his DM) Keep a pencil and note pad, you're going to need it.

Downloaded Patrick Bet-David's brain for the price of a pizza
Strategy is my favourite part of a business so I was in for a treat reading this book! I really liked that this book was full of tactics and not just motivational stuff. It fired me up and also gave me clarity so I can use that fire to move fast on my path instead of just feeling good temporarily. I wanted to attend The Vault Conference previous year but I couldn't afford to fly to america and attend it but it seems he's covered pretty much everything in this book! It's a book which I will keep getting back to depending on which situation I'm in. Watching valuetainment since 3 years now! Pat is such an amazing resource for the whole entrepreneur community! Every single entrepreneur (or an aspiring one) should read this book! Order it today, you won't regret it! Let all these exclamation marks depict my enthusiasm! Once you start reading it, you, my friend, are in for a ride 🚀 Lots of love PBD ❤️🇮🇳

Not only a business book but a life guide
I have been following Patrick Bet-David for about 3 years since I found Valuetainment, from that moment his advise was not only based on theoretical knowledge but based on his own experiences. the book is an improved extension of the Youtube channel. While many business book authors use examples to explain specific methods or theories, Patrick goes beyond and explains from his own experiences the relationship between the theoretical knowledge he acquired and how he put it in practice, the result is a not a business book only, but a life guide. Patrick guide us in a step-by-step path to know us better in order to be able to provide the best for other people, either through entrepreneurship or intrapreneurship. As he mentions in the book, knowing ourselves is the main challenge to being to improve our lives and other people's lives and moreover our own families. Another great difference between classic business or personal improvement books, is the gifts Patrick gave us after each chapter, making the full circle of knowledge, theory, practice and experiment. I am sure I will not read the book once but it will become my personal guide for years to come. Thank you David for sharing your knowledge with us, really appreciate it.
