Q: Are the blades the same maple color on both sides?

I got the gold and black and the blades were the same color on both sides so i would assume the maple would be the same

Q: I have a pretty low patio ceiling. Can the fan be mounted without a down rod?

No. It can not be mounted without a down rod.

Q: Is the height adjustable?

Previous answer of "No" is incorrect... "YES" you can adjust the height of these fans by choosing a different downrod... all of these fans come with a 4-inch downrod (fairly standard), but the downrods for these fans are rather unique and you're unlikely to find a compatible downrod at your local hardware store if you need a longer length to adjust the height... I'd recommend going to Smafan or CarroUSA's websites to order the downrod in the length and color you need. Sadly, as of Summer 2022, I haven't seen Amazon stocking the downrods for these fans, but they do exist on the manufacturer's website (I ordered a 14" downrod for one of my own fans).
