Building Dry-Stack Stone Walls

there is a ton of information on line that could have been in this book. I wont put the links to them, but as an example whats the ratio between 3/4" stone to 10' of face wall. Or, how much stone to order as fill in addition to base? How to figure out batter? Lots of little things that would have helped tremendously for the guy who has ZERO experience. Its a good book though w practical advice and lots of photos to give you advice. Not the book I took into the field when I really need something solid. it is worth the money though...

This was a gift for my husband who has been 'going to' build a stone wall since forever. I think the 'going to' might be as far as he gets but at least he's better prepared now. Who knows? I bought him a book about moss gardens and he's actually started that, so maybe I should order a load of rocks and see what happens. Anyway, this book has loads of info and he's very pleased with it.

We have a stone wall in front of our home. My husband wanted a book on them so he could fix ours.

If you are going to build a dry stone wall you must read this book. Not only does this book tell you step by step, it also has the pictures to go with it. This book teaches you from the planning stage to putting the last stone on the wall. This book also has a great gallery of pictures for you to get some ideas. You should also take a look a the first and second how to projects. The first project is for a simple garden and the second is for a, kick your feet up and say "I did this" patio. To sum it all up, if you are going to a stone wall project or even thinking of one, get this book.
