Speed - 150+ mbps (ports matter usb 2.0 will give 30-35 mbps) plug it without extension cables or hubs directly into the motherboard Durability - yet to see Better than portable hdds - why? Because if anything goes wrong with the case you can open it and use the hdd with pibox sata to usb which isn't the case with portable hdds. Portability - Well keep it in a backpack and take it anywhere but just don't shake it too much. Lifespan - This is a desktop hdd, it'll last up to 10 years on moderate use. Packaging - Cardboard support was necessary to reduce the bounce while in transport if it was bubble wrap it might bounce too much and damage the hdd inside. Cardboard support on the other hand absorbs the impact and deforms without bouncing back. Still I think it could have been a bit better.

Listing in amazon says its 7200 RPM, but it will comes with 3.5 5400 RPM SMR drive (barracuda) which is slower comapred to desktop 7200 drives, Wt* amazon ? this is a bummer as the drive need extra 12v power supply to run a 5400 rpm drive which is slightly faster than regular laptop 2.5 hdd that doesn't need extra 12v supply Other than this inaccurate details, speed is decent, it heats up at about 50C on continuous usage

This product is so heavy and not travel friendly

It really good. We able to free up space in our laptop.

I purchased this hard drive only a few months ago, and it has already stopped being detected by my computer. The LED turns on, but the drive doesn’t show up, and it sometimes starts beeping. What has been even more disappointing is the warranty/data recovery process. Instead of a straightforward replacement or service, I’m being asked to send the drive through their in-lab recovery process-we need to send it to Netherlands bearing Custom, taxes etc costs- All potential customs duties, taxes and other charges not covered by the warranty. A warranty should provide peace of mind, but this experience has made me reluctant to buy this product again or recommend it to others. I expected much better reliability and after-sales support from a brand like Seagate.

Good for desktop use to increase storage

The package contained HDD and all cables and power adapters . Its compatible with MAC OS 10.13.. and silent. Body is of thin plastic and it lacks proper heavy base.

I received an open package. The hard drive makes a very loud scratching noise even when nothing is copying or being read.
