Phenyx Pro Dual UHF Tunable Freq Wireless Microphone System PTU-52-1H1B

I bought this a couple of years ago as a backup unit and I have to say it has really surprised me. There was one mishap where the transmitter was dropped and the connection was damaged internally. It was easily opened and re-soldered and has been fine ever since. The hand held microphone works very well with very little opportunity for feedback. I am not saying it is an equivalent to the Shure brand but it sounds as good to me. I am glad to have it for a backup unit at our Church.

This microphone set easily plugs into the XLR A/V system I have access to. The volume easily adjusts so that the audience hears the presentation well, yet it does not cause feedback. The gain setting (not adjustable - only volume control), picks up sound easily. No need to keep the microphones right up to someone's month.

Both units work fine with good sound. Tell user to hold [on/off button] down 2 seconds to turn off, I can change carrier frequency like popular brands. One really good feature: Turn off the mic and no noise! Just On then Off, no mute to worry about. I can turn up down volume at the base unit. The vol can go up down at lapel but I don't suggest it. (signal to noise issues) Duct tape solves that one. (Mic users like to play) Hint: Keep volume bar lights on the base above 3/4 for best sound downstream signal. In our case handheld is used 1st then teacher uses lapel after.

Very impressed with the Phenyx Pro PTU-52-1H1B, especially considering its price point. The sound quality of the handheld microphone is great. In actual live use, it's surprisingly comparable to a wired Shure SM58. Vocals come through clear and natural, and the microphone has very good rejection around stage monitors. In addition to the handheld wireless microphone, the system includes a bodypack and lavalier microphone, making it useful for several different applications. I did find that the usable wireless range with the bodypack/lavalier combination wasn’t quite as strong as what I experienced with the handheld, but it still performed well and adds a lot of versatility to the package. What impressed me most is the overall performance for the price. No, this isn’t a $1,000 professional touring wireless system, but Phenyx Pro has managed to deliver sound quality and real-world performance that punches considerably above its price range. For bands, clubs, DJs, churches, speaking events, and smaller production companies looking for a good wireless system without spending a fortune, the PTU-52-1H1B is an excellent value.

I am a Mobile DJ who has been deejaying many events a year since 1999. I have owned Wireless microphones from Audio Technica, SHURE, NADY, Voco Pro, GTD, and now Phenyx Pro. I saw this system on sale here on Amazon for $98.39 after a 20% discount, and the specs seemed like exactly what I want for my microphone needs. I have a 7 year old Shure BLX Combo system where the lavalier mix transmitter box has been malfunctioning so I wanted a combo handheld/lavalier wireless set up. I decided to give this Phenyx Pro 52B system a try, and I AM IMPRESSED! The build quality surpasses what I expected for a system in the $100 price range. The sound is good out of both the hand held, and the lavalier box. These microphones are not as sensitive as SHURE microphones are so they do need to be closer to the speaker's mouth, but the sensitivity is not bad at all. I am really impressed with the range! I did a distance test outside at a park in 32 degree windy weather today. I was able to walk over 400 feet away from my table/speaker/receiver box with the hand held, and it still had a clear wireless signal! With the lavalier box, I was able to walk about 250 feet from the receiver box before I started getting signal drop outs! I compared this system to my Shure BLX system that cost $599.99 when I purchased it. This Phenyx Pro system out performed the Shure BLX system in signal distance! I couldn't believe it! The Shure hand held pushed 300 feet, but the SHURE lavalier box get's cut outs, and signal drops starting at 50 feet, and by the time I got to 100 feet away, the SHURE lavalier mic had no signal whatsoever. Granted, my Shure BLX system is over 5 years old, and used a lot, but this new Phenyx System really surprises me! It even came with a carry case, wind screen, and am attachment to keep the handheld stable and not roll around on the table when you put it down on a table! I am truly impressed with this sytem, and for $98.39 it's a BARGAIN! Just buy this system, you will be very happy that you did!

Plugged right into my receivers mic input and works great. You can play music, and have the ability to speak over the top, which is what we wanted. Great little mic system.

Don’t waste your money on this model! I recently used this set and had a really bad experience. This model is probably piece of junk and would recommend to stay away from it. - The mics cut out randomly even within 10-15 feet of indoor clear line of sight distance with no other wireless systems in atleast half a mile distance. I tried swapping out the mic on the body pack but thinking it’s a broken wire or joint but didn’t help. Also tried multiple frequencies but it continued to create problem. At a point, the guest speaker got frustrated and took off the over the year mic and used the wired mic. I had to replace the system in middle of the program with the older PTU5000 and it worked well as always. I tested again at my home for about 5 mins within my living room and exactly same results. - there is a design flaw in the mic positioning of the over-the-ear mic which Phenyx is not fixing even in newer models. The flexible stem’s spring action turns the mic direction away from the mouth regardless of how well you set it up. You can start your program by setting the right direction but in a matter of mins, the sound will be become muzzled. I also have GTD UHF mics which are 99% similar but their mics do. It have this issue

Very good. I was surprised that the sound quality was so good for the price, and the batteries seem to last a long time.

Muy buenos micros, la única pega es que cuando pulsas una vez el botón de encendido cuando están encendidos se pone en mute, hubiera sido mejor otro sistema que fuera menos dado a "muteados" involuntarios. Por lo demás, buen sonido y buen alcance, el material es bueno para el precio que tiene.

Me encantó su sonido, es de buen peso, también el micrófono de diadema suena bien, lo único que pediría es que incluyera un clip para pedestal que le quede, ya que no entra en los convencionales.
