Do the pieces break off easily? We got a similar game and they all popped out in a day.

There are no pieces to break off. The material seems to be very sturdy unless the child is really rough and trying to break the game there should be no problem. I gave it to a 5 year old and his Mom sent me a picture a month later and he is still playing the game with his 2 year old brother. Hope this helps.
