ez and bright
I have two of these and they're great. One remote will control both of them at the same time. Brighter than another brand i tried. My monitor has a usb c but no tybe a, so an adapter was an easy fix. no software needed for basic stuff. Ton of value at that price.

Simple, easy to use TV bias lighting
This is the third time I've bought this LED strip. I keep coming back to this one because it's simple to use, reliable, and cheap. I've tried other bias lights with dimming features and color control and they are just complicated for no reason, the remote runs out of battery and the batteries are not standard size. I don't need any of those features for a TV bias light. This one has no on-off switch, no dimmer control, no color control. You plug it into a USB port on the back of the TV and it turns on and off with the TV. Simple and no fuss. In terms of sizing, I've used this on a 65", 85" and now 98" TV. For the 98" TV, I bought the XXL length. As you can see from the picture, I did not run it to the very edge of the TV. It sits about 12" inboard on all sides. That works perfectly in my view. I have tried running the light strip very close to the edge of the TV and it's too bright and distracting. I like my bias lighting to be subtle and plain, D6500 white. For Sony TVs, they will sometimes send power to the USB port when the TV is turned off. To keep the bias light off with TV off, I have installed a USB power switch so I could just shut it off. Not a big deal and much simpler to use than the janky remote controls that comes with the color changing lights that are easy to lose or runs out of battery power after a year or so.

Very Good Quality. Bright. Cooler Color Temp. Power Within USB 3 Spec
Works great. My only complaint is that the light is more blueish, while I prefer a more reddish (lower, “warmer” temperatures). I knew this going in, and for me, the convenience of the optional RF dimmer switch and the USB power trump this minor complaint. I installed the 118” “Large” Luminoodle kit on a Vizio P55-c1 (55” 4K TV). I installed in on the back where the back was parallel with the wall behind it. Because the rear of my TV is slightly curved around the edges (~5” radius), the “flat” area that I applied it to ended up being about 3” in from the left, right, and top. If you’re unsure what size you need, measure out a piece of string and see how well that would work. Note also the connector length when considering placement. It’s a very thoughtful design, with a flat cable and bi-directional USB connnector. The adhesive is genuine 3M OEM molding tape. This is the stuff they use in the automotive world to e.g. stick the chrome model name of the car onto the car. Trust me, it’s what you want. Once applied (you peel the red tape off from the grey adhesive, which itself is stuck on one side to the back of the flexible Luminoodle circuit board), it’s not going anywhere until you want it to. As long as you have clean hands and a clean surface (dust the back of your TV before applying the Luminoodle), you’ll be able to re-stick it as long as you’re careful if you mess up initially. Again, it’s the best stuff that they could have possibly used. Measure it out and plan where you want to install it before you go to stick it on and you’ll do well. I also went for the optional RF dimmer switch, which is equally great, and shares the flat cable + bidirectional USB connector (you can plug it in “backwards” and it works fine). I control it using a Broadlink RM-Pro, which is another IMO very good product. The RF range is good, there are MANY brightness levels, and the interface is simple. As some of you have been, I was curious about the actual power draw for the large size. I measured using two genuine Apple 110v USB adapters - the 5W iPhone adapter and the 12W iPad adapter. With the dimmer on full bright, the 118” Large Luminoodle drew [email protected] (3.7 watts). On the dimmest setting, it was drawing [email protected] (this was running through a USB 3 extension cable into my TV’s USB 2.0 port -> tester -> dimmer on lowest setting -> Luminoodle). TL;DR a USB 3.0 port should be able to provide 900mA of power at 5v. This draws less than that in all circumstances for the large size, even with the dimmer. If your TV has a USB port that is blue inside, this will work as bright as it can possible go. If you only have USB 2.0, there’s a small chance that your TV will complain about the device drawing too much power for the Large size (not sure if other sizes draw less power, but they *should*) and you’d have to potentiallly use a USB wall adapter or something.

Good Product, Good Design
I don't have a home theater room or anything but after reading others reviews I thought if it could improve the picture quality then it was worth a shot. I looked at various brands and makers that offered various configurations. I chose the Luminoodle because it was the most straightforward setup. It doesn't come with a remote or ability to change color as other sellers do. I decided that simple was better. The installation was easy, I found a video online so that I'd know what to expect. Even after watching the video and being aware of potential pitfalls, I still managed to peel the adhesive away from from the light kit. It went back easily enough and was still sticky so I could attach it to the back of the TV. I have a 50" screen and this was just enough to go around 3 sides (like they show in the picture). So if you have a larger TV then the light strip wont fully cover both sides. Other reviewers have complained that the adhesive wasn't durable and would peel away from the TV. That has not been my experience. It sticks well, even when you double it over to make the 90 degree turns. I'm not sure that the light strip makes a difference in color perception, but it does make it easier to watch by reducing eye strain. I noticed that I feel more comfortable or relaxed while watching nighttime tv. What I don't like... This may just apply to my circumstance, so bear that in mind. My TV is set against a wall that is right next to a hallway. Everytime I pass the TV on my way to or from the bedrooms, I get a shock of light. It's not a deal breaker and I imagine I'll get accustomed to it. If I could put the TV elsewhere I wouldn't even mention it. If I decide to buy another of these I would be more inclined to get a unit that offers the ability to adjust the brightness and different colors for mood lighting. Bottom line - the Luminoodle is well designed, uses quality adhesive, provides bright light, makes watching tv more comfortable (for me anyway). Its a good product and reasonably priced. I would recommend to anyone looking to add bias lighting to their home theatre. It would also be an inexpensive method to provide under cabinet lighting and I may consider that at some point in the future.

Simple, functional, true 6k LED strip, and eye strain relief
I didn't get a discount and I didn't get anything for free. I didn't even get this on a Prime sale. Full price, my friends. Product arrived quickly and with no damage. Packaging is simple as are the instructions; unwrap, remove backing, stick onto display, plug into USB port. When I initially started removing the backing, the adhesive came up along with it. Managed to stick it back but it's no longer straight and flat, so just something to watch out for when installing. This doesn't have any effect on the functionality, however. Pleasantly surprised to find that it's true 6k; my room is nothing but 6k lights. And it's as bright as you would want. I'm assuming the manufacturer didn't decide on the spacing and strength by chance or at random, because it would appear as if whoever designed this product actually wanted it to be GOOD. Baffling, I know! Another pleasant surprise: The original monitor I picked up was defective, so I ended up exchanging for a different model. Removing the Luminoodle strip was simple, then I just stuck it to a wall until I got my new monitor ready for the install, and back on it went. Wasn't happy with monitor #2, so I returned that and bought monitor #3. Removed, reinstalled, still functioning just fine. The product functions as advertised and has been very beneficial in reducing eye strain. I appreciate the easy install process (stick the strip and plug into USB). The brightness level is strong enough be noticeable without being a distraction or an additional eyesore. I can't think of any cons for this. Yeah, the adhesive came up, but that was most likely because I was impatient when removing the backing tape. It would be nice to be able to adjust the brightness or change the LED color, but those aren't detractors. Product never claimed to have those features, won't mark it down because I suddenly expect more. The date is currently 9/26/2016. I'll post pictures on 9/27/2017. It's a simple purchase that I know will pay for itself very, very quickly. Less eye strain means more work gets done. :)

Common Problems Diagnosed and Solved!
First off let me address some of the issues other people have been having. When people are saying they are upset that it won't fit all the way around their huge TVs, that's because you are making the square to big... If you want the lights to be across the top, bottom, and both sides then you won't want to put the lights all the way to the edge of the TV, you will need to bring them closer to the center of the TV. Personally I kept the light about 4 inches from the edge of the TV and was able to cover both sides and across the top completely. This is working just fine for me with no dark spots around the TV whatsoever. Another problem people are having is the strand not sticking to the TV. One of two things is happening: 1. they are trying to stick it onto a dust covered TV or 2. they did what I did and peeled off both the backing and the sticky strip. I went to peel off the backing for the sticky material and realized it wasn't sticking to my TV but the backing was catching the hairs on my arms and pulling it. I looked closer and the sticky material was pulling off of the light strand just as easily as I would imagine the backing should come off the sticky material. I placed the sticky material back onto the light strand and pulled off just the backing this time. It was so sticky that if you placed it in the wrong spot you would have to try pretty hard to pull it back off just to move it. I have attached pictures below for reference. This is a 55in TV and it has no problem lighting up the wall behind it. In all honesty, these pictures don't do the brightness justice as you can see in the 3rd picture compared to the last two (I have the same lights on in all 3 of those pictures but the 3rd and 4th picture make things really dark due to the camera focusing on the bright TV. The reason you don't really see the white light coming from the sides of the TV is due to the fact that I have my TV positioned in the corner and both sides almost touch the wall. The lights turn on and off with my TV as described they would. They leave a nice white glow on the wall behind it. I love watching TV in the dark but my fiance hates it, at least used to. Now she loves watching TV in the dark. I couldn't be happier with this product. I am actually ordering another couple of strands for my other TVs!

No idea if it'll last, but it's an excellent backlight. (update: lasted 1yr, 6mo.)
Update: April 2020 (1.5 years after purchase) - It finally died. The lights themselves are fine, but the wiring to the USB plug has given out; if I wiggle the strip at the plug, the lights will turn back on. I guess that's okay, but not at the price point (considering this is effectively a disposable product that did not manage to outlast the glue backing that it came with). I purchased a 3 meter long strip for a 27" monitor. Because of the design of the back, I did not trace the outline, but rather folded a back-and-forth pattern three times, with a small tail left over. I didn't trim the tail and can't really tell, when looking at my monitor from the front (in usual viewing usage) that one side would be brighter than the other. The adhesive backing purports to be from 3M, so it *should* stay on as long as needed. I don't think it'll ruin the monitor's plastic housing if I need to remove the light-strip, but who can say. I cannot speak to the product's durability or longevity, only having gotten it today. If it burns out unexpectedly, you can be assured I will be back here complaining. I'm a little sad to be losing the use of a USB-A port on my monitor but... whatever. I like having access to a backlight which is easily enough deactivated by unplugging the strip. I would like to note that the USB plug is omni-directional, so you don't need to worry about orienting it up or down, as you would with most other non-USB-C style plugs. (To be clear, the strip plugs into a "normal" USB-A port, *NOT* one of the new USB-C ports.) While I wish it were possible to control the light temperature and brightness, as well as turn it off without having to unplug the strip, it's fine. Everything's perfectly alright here now. We're fine. We're all fine here... now.... Thank you. How are you?

Neutral Back Light To Reduce Eye Strain/Increase Contrast
— WHY BIAS LIGHTING — If you do a Google search for "bias lighting example," the first image that shows up is a gray bar on a gradient background that goes from dark to light. The bar is the same gray, but against the dark side it looks lighter, and against the bright side the gray looks darker. This is the same principle that happens when you watch TV with bias lighting: blacks look blacker. In addition, bias lighting helps prevent eye strain. Just think about looking into your bright smartphone in the dark. You are basically staring at a flashlight for that duration. Put a backlight (bias lighting) on, and it's much easier on your eyes. — APPLYING THE STRIP — I bought the 118" (large) for a 55" HDTV. This length allows me to put this LED strip across the top, sides, and partially on the bottom of my TV. There is a 3M sticky side you can peel off when you are ready to stick this on. I recommend turning the LEDs on, finding the exact middle of the strip, then stick that middle to the top middle of your TV, and work out the rest of the sticking from there. The 3M sticky tape is strong, but I used gaffers tape for reinforcement. — CONSTRUCTION — There are soldered points that seem a bit fragile, so I taped those sections down with gaffers tape. — LIGHT TEMPERATURE — The LED color temperature looks neutral (not too blue or too orange). — SUMMARY — This was a good improvement over a different brand. This LED strip is long and can surround a TV with even light, and it's bright enough to provide comfortable backlighting for watching TV without any other light source in the room. I also suggest putting these behind computer monitors. Recommended.

The best bias lights
By far the best backlight. I’ve tried others but none are as good. Changed my tv and bought these again for the new one. A nice bonus was the leds came off perfectly from the old tv with no sticky residue. The light strip is very well designed with cutouts every few cm which allows it to bend around corners - very clever! The light it gives is a lovely clear white which boosts the image on the tv. Can’t fault them. There’s no fancy colours or dimming etc but there Shouldn’t be for bias lighting.

Bisschen teuer aber bin sehr zufrieden!!!
Bin begeistert. Tolles Produkt.

Best tv backlights
These are the second set of Luminoodle lights I have bought. I bought a set of these a while ago after reading the reviews and I have to say they were brilliant. I then upgraded my tv recently and made the mistake of trying regular LED strip lights that had various colours. I noticed the difference immediately in the brightness and the difference to watching the tv with the standard LED strip light ie. Weren’t so bright, so didn’t really give the tv screen picture much depth. So I bought this set and applied them. Turned the tv on and noticed the difference straight away. These luminoodle lights are so much brighter and clearer than regular LED strip lights, and they plug straight into the usb of your tv so they come on automatically when you turn on your tv so no need for a remote. will say my old flat screen tv didn’t have a usb socket as it was old, so I just used a regular usb plug and made sure that was on the same extension lead as the tv plug so they would come on at the same time as the tv. If you didn’t want the backlights on every time you watched tv and wanted it just at night, you can just use a separate usb plug and socket and turn them on and off when required. They’re really easy to apply, and really do make a difference to watching tv.
