Does this work with the apple smart folio? (non-keyboard folio). my intention is to use the smart folio when not using the apple keyboard.

This case is only compatible with Magic Keyboard and Smart Keyboard Folio. Sorry to tell you that it's not compatible with Apple Smart Folio since it may not be closed with our case.
