What size are these cards?

I'd say maybe 2x2in... I can't find our set to measure for certain, but they were square and around the same width as a regular playing card.

Is one of the cards the count?

Yes, that is why I bought them, my one year old grandson loves the count!

Is there a plastic grid/board for the tiles to sit in when playing?

Hi Joan and thanks for your question. No there is not a board for this. The tiles are simply placed on any flat surface.

Are the tiles thick cardboard, or just cardstock?

It is thick cardboard. My granddaughter loves this game...she's just turned 4!
