It’s never too late to improve your brain. Achieving and maintaining a higher level of mental fitness can be surprisingly fun—and to your brain, it’s healthy exercise. In this follow-up volume to her bestselling 399 Games, Puzzle & Trivia Challenges Designed to Keep Your Brain Young , Nancy Linde offers a brand-new collection of puzzles, trivia challenges, brainteasers, and word games that are not only great fun to do but are specifically designed to give your brain the kind of workout that stimulates neurogenesis, the process that allows the brain to grow new cells. Cross-train your brain by targeting 6 key cognitive functions: Long-term memory, working memory, executive functioning, attention to detail, multitasking, and processing speed. This is the kind of exercise you’ll want to do, and all it takes is 10 to 15 minutes a day for a full workout. Review: Hours and Hours of fun and mental challenges - I love this book. I had gone through the previous one and played all the trivia that I was interested in and was so excited to see this new book. I'm hoping by the time I get through all 417 of these, there will be another book full of challenges and fun trivia to figure out. If you are a trivia buff and you like a variety of challenges to test you and keep your brain active, then I highly recommend this book and the other one by the same author. Review: Wonderful puzzles - These are great, this is the 2nd one I bought from this author. Fun and good for your brain. Yeahhhhh

Just the right amount of challenge.
There are so many categories and they are so well done that it is a fun book to go through. I have friends who call and have me read some of the questions over the phone just for entertainment. Best of the best in my opinion with quality paper and stimulating questions for all levels. The companion volume is just as good.

Great book but needs spiral bound for comfort.
Great variety of puzzles to exercise the mind. At 69 years I work puzzles to keep my mind sharp. This book provides many hours of enjoyment while helping my brain stay healthy. I do wish this was spiral bound as it is cumbersome to hold due to arthritis. The book is quite heavy as expected due to the large amount of puzzles. I think a spiral bound copy would make this much easier, thus more a pleasure to work the puzzles.

Enjoy fun, meaningful, multi-generational family holidays
Great book for my elderly parents. Younger family members are often tongue-tied, and even uncomfortable about awkward, seemingly forced, social engagements, with older relatives. This year has been especially sad for my age 93+ parents, because their previously, hidden symptoms of dementia had recently been exposed to their grandchildren, and suddenly revealed in a way that instigated a desire for avoidance from both age groups, due to unnecessary embarrassment and fear of rejection on the part of the elderly, and the dread of a long, dull, evening filled with reticent, forced, meaningless conversation that lacked any true open connection or intimacy on the part of the youth. However, I introduced this book during an otherwise dull, segregated family get-together, and the results were overwhelmingly delightful. The exercises were not only interesting, but were also surprisingly fun for both age groups. It was remarkable how the two generations dropped their seemingly narrow-minded biases, opened up and had a marvelous time together. They really enjoyed themselves. How silly their previous sentiments seemed! On another positive note, along with the positive feelings of joy that always seem to accompany a positive social interaction, with fun and laughter, where true intimacy was achieved, the exercises in this book, have so far been seemingly effective in blessing my elderly parents with the gift of hope, that perhaps they might be able to preserve, and continue to enjoy their remaining mental faculties for the remainder of their lives. I have no plans to return this book. In fact, I am thinking of ordering another copy.

Too American for me
While this is an interesting book its puzzles are too biassed towards American knowledge. We are expected to know USA state capitals, baseball teams and US terms and phrases. I see what the author is trying to achieve, but if we do not know what he is referring to, we cannot answer the questions even if we are mentally alert!
