Potassium is a good nutrient.
Being potassium polyacrylate, it is better than sodium polyacrylate as sodium can be toxic to plants while potassium is a needed mineral nutrient.

Added to bottom of raised beds
I love this stuff. Even in the summer heat in Texas I was harvesting tomatoes and peppers with no effort. I added a layer of this stuff to the bottom of my raised beds so there’s always moisture down at the roots but the top layer can maintain minimum moisture to reduce mildew and other soil-top issues.
