I tend to let my beard grow to about 1/8 in. then shave it off. This thing had difficulty with that. At first, it worked moderately well, but still took many back and forth moves to get the stubble. I tried rinsing the head every so often since it is supposed to be wet or dry. That made it worse. After about a month it wouldn't cut at all. The battery would only last for 2 shaves before it was too slow to cut. It also nicked me a few times.

I like a short beard. The smallest guard actually goes too short, basically getting rid of the beard all together. I am using the 2nd shortest guard now and works wonderful. Very happy with my purchase. My previous trimmers would get too dull in a couple months. This is still new, so let's see how long before I need to replace the blade ? The ergonomics of the unit is very user friendly. I'm happy

By the way it was advertised, I thought I found my beard trimmer. I love the Gillette brand and have been using their product since I started shaving. Unfortunately that was not the case. The trimmer with the guards works ok, but the trimmer by itself is worthless. I doesn't even cut the hairs. When I try to get a clean line, I have to try 2 to 3 times until it finally cuts. My shaver does a better job. Definitely not a good investment and very disappointed.

A middle aged man with graying, thick facial hair I ordered this baby as a thrifty, longer lasting (blade and battery charge) alternative to the Philips One Blade, but nasty reviews from the usual nay-sayers had me doubting my purchase. Well, I'm happy to say it also delivers a splendidly precise, quick and super smooth shave, even uprooting ingrown hairs without any tugging whatsoever! It is also a breeze to clean, with a fine rugged design that works under the shower. What else could anybody ask for?

I used to use a hair trimmer for my beard. This works just as well and with the portability and waterproof-ness it's better. I've noticed the negative reviews are about it being "irritating" to use. I do not notice that at all. The people complaining about it either have oversensitive skin or simply don't know how to trim properly. I've had a beard for for 15+ years and this product works great. Before I would usually use a mach3 fusion on my neck and above-beard area as well. This product nullifies that need as well, which makes the morning routine easier. All-in-all it's a great product and does what it'd advertised to do.

I use it to shave my head and face. Previously I used a OneBlade and I won't be going back. This shaves closer and lasts longer. BUT, the head top does comes off once in a while. Maybe it's a me thing.
