Bowie Stylophone - Limited Edition Synthesizer

It’s good quality great sound perfect size

We got this Stylophone for our 8 year old daughter on an impulse buy. She plays piano and has recently started writing her own music. She loves the digital sound of songs in video games, so we thought this would be fun for her. She’s been having a lot of fun figuring out how to play her favorite songs and she’s even been writing some of them down(using the corresponding numbers) so she can keep playing them. I can see this being a good tool to even help her piano playing in the future, helping her figure out fun melodies on this first then transferring them to the piano later. I think this would make a fun gift for any musician.

Awesome, super portable instrument that is easy to pick up and learn. The sound was great, and overall a superb piece of equipment.

I bought this a while ago and it worked for a month or so. But I picked it up one day and it wouldn't work. I'm not sure what I expected seen as these are made fairly cheap, but I was hoping for better. EDIT: I’m incredibly dumb. When I bought it, it sounded horrible and I couldn’t find myself willing to pick it and learn how to play it. But, with just a simple cleaning of the stylus and “keys”, it sounds exactly as a stylophone should. I’m going to amend my previous rating from 3 to 4 stars. It’s still cheap feeling but at least it works properly. A tip to whoever may find this useful: Put the instructions at the beginning of the manual instead of the very end and make the “you should probably clean this regularly” tip more visible instead of a little note at the top of an already small page.

I had never heard of a stylophone before seeing it in my recommendations list after purchasing a new kalimba. But of course I had to buy this one; it's a limited edition David Bowie mini instrument! After playing around with it, however, I discovered how much I enjoy making music with it. You can learn simple tunes on it without too much difficulty, but becoming a pro at it does take some practice, but it's fun to practice and learn your favorite songs. The stylophone also comes with a booklet detailing Bowie's history with the stylophone, which is great for a Bowie fan like me. This is a must-buy for Bowie fans, and an easy recommendation for music lovers who want to learn a surprisingly complex but enjoyable instrument!

I initially bought this as an addition to my Bowie collection… I attended the very first David Bowie show in the USA ( Spiders From Mars- Cleveland, Ohio 11/25/72 ) . I was only 11 and had no idea what he was holding up to the microphone during Space Oddity ! I was happy with this unit right out of the box . The packaging , logo and booklet are Way Cool . There was information and photos I had never seen prior to purchasing this unit . The TABS for the various songs are self explanatory and very easy to follow along with . The sounds are interesting ..from a bass tone to a high pitched synthy tone . The speaker is mainly for personal use and quite adequate but it can do more ! I bought an $8 adapter ( 3.5mm headphone Jack to 1/4” guitar cable jack ) and played it thru an effects pedal board into a Fender Twin . Using delay , Univibe and even a Fuzz Face with this unit really expands its tonal possibilities. I’m very pleased to own this and use it live . To me personally, it’s not a toy . It’s a true musicians dream at a crazy and affordable price !

My husband loved that I got him this for christmas. It's such a fun thing to use, it has a few little setting to adjust the sound it makes and its just so cool! Not to big but not to small it's great!

Gran instrumento, si sos músico este seria tu juguete preferido para llevar a cualquier lado . Y si no lo sos te divertirás intentando armar tus melodías.

Cool little instrument and super portable. Great for taking on holiday etc for musical kids where full size instruments impractical

La riproposizione di un oggetto cult, a metà tra l'oggetto sonoro e il giocattolo, nella versione Bowie Limited Edition. In plastica bianca, poche le funzioni (switch e vibrato) ma con la resa sonora dello Stylophone, lo strumento musicale che non c'è.

Hay que aprender a usarlo, pero va estupendo. Eso si, mientras aprenden los de alrededor nos volvemos locos
