I keep getting a line through the screen even though I’ve tried restarting and moving the camera. How can I troubleshoot?

How can I tell if camera is working without connecting to a Zoom meeting?

You don't have to do an actual Zoom meeting with others to know if it works. Since it's a plug and play device the pc registers it right away. (I must say here that there is a red light to let you know it's powered, and there's a green light when you have the camera video on.) I opened the Zoom app on the desktop and selected a "meeting" to see if the camera video was working- it was. I Al's changed the Zoom background just to know whether or not I would need a backdrop with the selected zoom background I preferred which I my case it did. I haven't had any problems with it and right now it meets my needs for meetings where I have to show my face.

It says dual mics and also shows 1 mic several other times. So what is it?

There is only one built-in microphone on the webcam.
