Does the damper have a spring return mechanism? How does the damper seal with no airflow?

Dear customer, Sorry for the late reply Our damper doesn't have the spring return mechanism. The flap remains closed vertically due to gravity when there is no air flow. Do you have a 10 inch x 9.5" size vent?

I’m sorry I don’t know the exact size of the vent I replaced but the old cover was an old plastic one and the new metal one fit perfectly.
