Review: Junk - The product software that you download is a bit bloated but offers a lot of analysis for those who are not excel savvy. The physical packaging is small and convenient and pretty robust, but lacks any mechanism for a device hard reset. All communication with the device is via USB port. The device itself is junk. Initially the data logger worked okay until I actually wanted to log data, once I made a logging run that overfilled the device it failed; this should not happen according to the manufacturers documentation. So basically you need to constantly offload the data from the device, make extremely short data runs or create extra sparse collection intervals, BUT never, never ever let the memory actually fill up. The result of memory overfill is a bricked device. It would be a nice solution for greenhouse monitoring if it actually worked. Review: These work extremely well. It is too bad that they are discontinued - I would have given five stars if these data loggers were still available. We have 10 of these in use at any given time monitoring compliance with temperatures, humidity and light intensity. They work great. Data download is very quick almost instantaneous. The graphs generated with the HOBOWARE software are easy to interpret, plus you have the raw data to save to Excel or other data solution. I've had a couple of instances where a logger would get forgotten in a room and fill with data. It was not a problem to download the data and start over again. Now we will be moving reluctantly to the new Bluetooth versions. I'm not sure it is an improvement. The U12-012 was an excellent tool.
