How can i tell if my 4.6 takes mfi 6 or mfiw?

Look at your VIN. It's the 8th digit. It'll be a 6 or W 6 means a Windsor engine block, made in Ontario, Canada W means made in Romeo, Michigan, USA Many people thought the W in the VIN meant Windsor, nope.

is this item sold in a pair or is the price for a single coil, I have a 99 ford explorer and it takes two coils

I have a 1997 Ranger. Had to buy 2 coils. Did not come as a pair. Hope this helps you.
