2006 ford expedition 5.4 3V. Had all intermittent codes for random misfire, #5&7 cylinder misfire. Lean bank 2, retarded timing bank 2, would go into safe mode on occasion and not shift or go above about 10 mph. Installed the first in bank 2, and probed was resolved. Installed the other as well in bank 1 and engine was back to life like at least a year younger in performance. Noticed old solenoids had slight rattle when removed and shaken and these did not. Guessing spring failure on old ones. Just have about 150 miles on these, do not know the longevity they will last, but none in stock at parts store, these were 1/4 price of just one and got overnight. So far so good, definitely work, definitely quick and reasonably priced. Fit well and easy to install. Overall I rate these a good product. The only change is the screw to mount them is not secured to the solenoid like OEM. Have to make sure not to drop in valve cover. Wasn’t difficult, but possible.

I had to replace one of these brand new because there was a gash on it causing bleed off and throwing a code. Ohh well. Yesterday I was on the expressway and as soon as I got off it started running on 5 cylinders. The one side had this vct in it that was only running on one cylinder and knocking. Come to find out I pull it back out and if you shake it it’s rattling. Something inside has broke on it. THESE WILL DESTROY YOUR GUIDES THEN ULTIMATELY YOUR ENGINE. Buy oem

Fit as intended and got rid of the check engine light they are super easy to install just one 10mm screw They seem to be a good quality product and performs and functions as intended Its a great value for the money when compared to oreillys or Autozone

Inexpensive replacement part, reasonably priced, easy installation remove old part and install the new. Not going to last as long as the OEM part but it'll get the motor running again.

The solenoids went bad in my 20 year old truck throwing off the timing. I replaced them with these, reset the sensors and the problem resolved. Five stars for that. HOWEVER: This item is being installed inside the valve cover. If you drop a screw, it falls into the timing chain housing. The mounting screws on the OEM solenoid have an interference fit and do not easily drop out of the solenoid bracket. The socket head screw provided with these are short and very loose in the larger solenoid mount holes, creating a recipe for disaster for the home mechanic. I swapped them for the original screws, but one of those almost fell out during the installation due to the (again) oversized mount holes. Two stars off.
