Steady Rest NXT Adjustable

I'll give this 5 stars, because it's cheap, does the job, and should last a while if gently used. Inside the box are all the parts and detailed assembly instructions, which include photographs (that's a refreshing change). Out of all the parts, I had 2 small issues when putting it together. 1. One of the included screws had no head. Obviously, they are mass-produced. I replaced that screw with one of my own, no biggie, and it's not worth taking a star off for that. 2. When connecting the (green) bridge between the front and rear rest, the rear bolts would not thread. I thought I had a problem, but I switched the bridge around (180 degrees), now the front was the back, the back the front, and all 4 bolts fitted nicely. Bear that in mind. Don't force anything to fit; this isn't made out of metal, it's 100% plastic. Once assembled, I rested my rifle, and it was a good fit. I'm using this for air rifles, so it shouldn't be a problem with recoil. Given the quality of plastics used, I expect this to last a while. I would recommend this product. (As for the negative reviews, remember, this was under $40! You're saving a lot of money and this product still does it's job well).

This Caldwell Steady Rest is just what I needed at a great price. If you are a person who likes to tinker with long guns or needs a steady support to sight in a gun, you will love this thing. It took about 5 minutes to assemble with clear instructions and a very intuitive build. It also doubles as a pistol support for getting your red dot on target. I recommend it highly.

The Caldwell steady rest NXT offers good quality at a small price. Worked great At shooting range. Was steady. Adjusted easily. Was easy to install the six screws to put it together yet I would have preferred it came already put together. Looks a bit flimsy but works nicely. The light weight is a big plus for me. I had to pad the underside bridge edges as they were sharp enough to possibly cut oneself when carrying it holding the bridge area. Rounded edges all around the bottom would eliminate the cutting self problem. Overall the rest is a good buy for me. Better than my sand bags and much easier to adjust. Don't abuse this rest and should serve one well for years. Happy shooting.

For the money, this rest will get the scope zeroed in. It is very light weight and disassembles into small enough pieces that it fits in the range bag.

Works decent for the price it’s a bit cumbersome but you get what you pay for

This shooting rest was a game changer for me I prefer shooting off this restoration then my standard bag rests i would normally use to shoot but now that I bought this restoration, I would use this over the bags any day.

Nice product for the money easy to assemble

I had high hopes for this gun rest but was disappointed. There is no weight to the rest, at all and no way to add any, my mistake, I should have paid closer attention to it's details. Besides the weight, the pads meant to protect the gun from rubbing on the rest will not stay attached, they are constantly curling up. The screw system on front that changes elevation is clunky and hard to operate when a firearm is in the cradle. Lastly, the feet are very slippery and slide on most every surface. I would have to carpet my table to have any traction and that would just be a bad idea. All complaints aside, for what it is, it works alright. To help a new or weaker shooter it can provide some stability. Was not helpful for what I needed; for sighting in firearms.

Well over priced for what it is, basically all plastic like a child's toy, so was not very impressed when it turned up. Ok it's light but not very robust, and does not sit well on a flat surface until the weight of a gun is on it. Also be very careful during assembly of the bridge section, as it could be very easy to cross thread the fixing screws. Better used for maintenance. For scope zeroing would recommend something more solid - because of this am presently considering returning it.

Lightweight but well built. Good enough to sight in your firearm
