GM Genuine Parts D1539J (25981009) Brake Light Switch

Worked perfect on my 2011 Silverado 1500. If your cruise quits working and you get a code for the brake switch this is an easy fix.

My issue was that the cruise control would work intermittently. In other words, sometimes pressing the button on the steering wheel would engage cruise control and other times it would not. After replacing this brake light switch, the cruise control has engaged 100% of the time, for over 1 month now! NOTE: When I first installed the switch, the brake lights were engaged 100% of the time, even when the vehicle was in park. This was NOT an issue with the new brake light switch being faulty! I ready many reviews stating many of these new switches were faulty, and the real issue may have been the installation was not done properly. To fix this, I removed the new switch from the brake pedal, and then reinstalled it until it attached properly. Another note, this is really an easy and inexpensive fix, don't be afraid to try it!

I bought a brake light switch for my 2011 GMC Sierra, and it’s working great. After watching one YouTube video and spending about 10 minutes on the fix, the problem was solved. Installation was super easy—just one 10 mm bolt, unplug the old switch, and plug in the new one. It’s a straightforward DIY job that saved me both time and money on a mechanic visit. The new switch fit perfectly and instantly cleared the warning lights. It’s been working flawlessly since then, and I haven’t seen the Stabilitrak or traction control lights come back on. If you’re dealing with similar warning lights on a GMC Sierra or a similar model, I highly recommend this brand. It works perfectly and saved me a lot of hassle. It’s a simple fix that can prevent a lot of unnecessary stress and expensive diagnostics.

Genuine GM part, not a knock off! This fixed my 2011 Silverado with the cruise not working. One bolt with a clip and easily replaced.

This was the perfect fix for our 2007 Cadilac Escalade. We were having issues with the cruise control not engaging and I watched a YouTube video about a possible fix, and this was exactly what we needed. The install took less than 5 minutes to complete. I ama 35 year old woman wanted to surprise my better half as the broken cruise control was one of the main reasons he would chose to drive our other vehicles. The tools I needed were a 10mm socket wrench and a flathead screwdriver, and a headlamp. Because the position of this part is under the driver's area above the break petal, it was hard to see without light, but once you take the screw off, there was a clip that held the rod in place. The clip does not just pop off- rather- it has a larger and smaller hole that slides up or down (just like when you nail a picture frame and slid it into place) and after I realized that, i used my flat head to gently lift the down curved part on the clip and also push down on the its self to free it from the hold. After realizing what was locking it in place and how... disconnecting the switch and replacing the new one just felt like butter. You can kind of see the small and big hole in the picture, and the down angled piece in the middle. but needless to say, I am very happy, and my honey is very happy with the results as well! Major kudo points were earned for this $18 part!

Cruise control light activates with no action? Its the brake switch! Ordered this genuine GM deco replacement and instantly cruise control works again. HIGHLY recommend DELCO parts. Very happy!!!
