Love Is a Truck Review: Precious, precious children's book - We found this at the library and knew we had to have a copy to keep. This book is so simple in text and illustrations but so poignant. As the mother of a little boy who lives and loves trucks, I highly recommend. My boy has us read it over and over, so he is obviously a fan also! Review: Well loved - This is one of my firetruck obsessed son’s favorite books. I got it for him as a gift for Valentine’s Day. It’s starting to fall apart now. I’d recommend tapping the binding like the libraries do. I love the texture of the pages. It’s like a textured cardstock board book. The story itself isn’t really a story but we don’t ever really read it either. We just talk about all the vehicles on the pages. It’s a cute little book.

Cute, simple, high-contrast illustrations for babies! My 2 year old also loves this book!! Keeps asking for the “love truck” book!

Perfect book for a truck-loving toddler
Bought this for my truck-obsessed two year old as a Christmas gift and it's so cute. The story is sweet and the illustrations are very cute. I also love the physical material of the book- it has almost a matte canvas-y feeling to it, but it's stiff and durable like a board book. My son will love it.

Adorable book..but hard to read..
The book is adorable and my son loves it; unfortunately it’s painful to read due to the fact that it does not flow..there are opportunities to rhyme yet the author misses..not sure what happened. Son is still obsessed with it, pictures are adorable. Wish I could rewrite it 🤦🏻♀️

Our newest favorite!!!
My 2.5 year old is absolutely in love with this book. The writing is simple and beautiful, the pages are such a nice thick texture, and the bold color pallet is so visually pleasing. I purchased this book when trying to diversify the racial representation in my sons' library. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this!

Poorly executed
This book is a cute idea, but it's written very poorly and is not very creative. Even children's books should make a bit of sense.

My 5-star review reflects how much my son has loved this book. It has been a consistent favourite since I purchased it a year ago (he was just 14 months old then). There are strange phrases that seem to make little sense ('a ladder truck, spotted dog in the back') but my son doesn't seem to care. From an abstract perspective, he understands what both those phrases mean, so he's quite happy! Note some Americanisation: 'ice cream truck' rather than 'ice cream van') I am always happy to see books for toddlers with black characters where being black isn't problematized, or made a central part of the plot!

My toddler loves this book. We have read it every day for the last 4 months. My son can already recite the pages himself. The illustrations keep children engaged and the concept is perfect for any truck loving kid.

Lovely book.

Lovely illustrations and a fun idea but very weirdly written - or possibly translated (not brilliantly) from another original language?
