When this box was delivered I was surprised how heavy it was. It was extremely well packaged to prevent dings and dents during shipping. The box is heavy and stiff, and of a great size. Gasket is pliable and well adhered to the lid, and the hing clamping locking handle applies very good pressure to insure a good seal. Paint was perfect. It is lockable and has built in little feet to protect the lid when you set the box down. I have no doubts this box is capable of decades of service. I really didn't want to spend $50 for a large ammo box, but I sure am glad that I did now that I've seen this level of quality. Buy one, or five. You won't regret it. I bought this for long term ammo storage and I'm storing CCI 36 grain 22LR in this case. It hold 45 100 round boxes...That's 4,500 rounds!!!

High quality, very well made built like a tank ... in China. Just telling you up front if that's a big deal to you. PROS: * Substantial hinge and latch. * Water resistant lid gasket. * Thick, unwimpy metal. * I'm 220 lbs and can stand on it, it shows zero signs of buckling. * The bottom corners are seamless. * The spot welds look to be very precise and well done. I"m guessing robotic welder but not sure? * Place a substantial lock on the latch and you have a good deterrent for "busybodies". * The metal snap-down carrying handle is very cool and usable. * I think this would survive someone seriously going at it with a baseball bat. (A gigantic crowbar would be another story, but I think they would still have to sweat). CONS: If someone is a true burglar or thief, if they gain physical possession of ANY portable security enclosure, it's just a matter of WHEN, not IF they will break into it. NO, I DON'T KEEP A SMALL FORTUNE IN HERE!, just some cushion that could ease our way for a week or two in a catastrophe - enough to rent a hotel room for a few days and buy some breakfast and dinner for a few days. My combo setup mentioned here a calculated risk, and I feel it's better than doing nothing. I feel good about the risk/reward tradeoff. NO, I would not put my life savings or all my stocks and bonds in this. This could also be a good solution for secure food storage - again due to water gasket and being rodent proof. A thought: I'm not so sure you couldn't drill a few 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch holes through the bottom of this and bolt it to something substantial as an anchoring "deterrent". You would give up water resistance though. (If you used Stainless Steel bolts, washers and nuts and applied a large dab of silicon caulk as a sealant buffer before fastening, you might just keep some water / seepage resistance.) As for it's actual stated purpose, I have not put ammo in it but I'm sure it would do fine for ammo storage. It's built like a tank.

The Ammo box is Very Well Made and Very Sturdy. The box is Watertight and is Sealed. It is very Functional and Stackable. A Great Value for the Price. Great Size and Weight. No issues with the order.

Outstanding Quality - Fit for purpose and use. Item is as described, delivered as agreed in pristine condition. Heavy gauge, lid aligned for tight seal closure, hasp pulls lid down tight; perfect finish. Everything about this product including the packaging says pride in the workmanship and delivery.

I use mine for one of my survival kits, and the space it offers (compared to using a 50 or fat fifty style ammo can) is perfect for it. Love the "mil-spec" quality of the can, and would definitely by another if needed.

First off this is not an authentic military ammo box for US military use. Also the steel used to construct the box is very soft leading to a box that can easily be bent or racked out of square . However the lid is heavy and rigid. The eye for the padlock seems to be thin walled hollow steel tubing soldered to the box. All the seams on this box appear to be soldered together. I used this box for a cargo container on my motorcycle drilling 12 holes for mounting and strap anchor points . I'm happy to have this box but the $ 65.00 price was hard to swallow I,ll not do it again.

This thing is built like a tank and looks nice. The weight really shows the quality. Cost more than basic options but the construction quality justifies it. Works great for ammo storage or securing other valuables.

This box is great. Very strong and rugged with good quality seams and fairly large. Perfect for ammo and firearm storage, preppers or even as a tool box as this box is lockable (padlock not included, but fits most heavy duty ones). It's so good, I've just ordered a second one (which should tell you something). It's not on prime, so delivery is slightly longer.
